About this property
Tranquility East
Peaceful full size home on 25 acres awaits you and your family. Plenty of room for boat, RV, or trailer parking. Whether you enjoy cookouts and fire pits or theater and cocktails, we've got you covered.
House sits well off the road with a security gate for privacy. Wide open spaces allow for children to run amok, get dirty and explore. Property holds many hours of quiet contemplation, exploration and adventure. Deep front & back porches offer views of the beautiful sunrise or vibrant sunset and a cool spot to eat watermelon on a Texas summer day. The locally grown Black Diamond Watermelons are second to none.
Dozens of Day-Trips are just a short drive in nearly any direction. You want an Historical experience? St Augustine is reportedly the oldest town in Texas, first settled in 1717 - 1.5 hour away, or ride the Texas State Railroad a mere15 minutes away .You want a thrill? Try zip lining @ New York Texas Ziplines or the safari drive thru in Grapeland. Palestine (30 min away) offers a revitalized, historic Main Street, active Farmers' Market, local theater and a multitude of dining options and activities, throughout the year. The big city of Tyler is about an hour away with it's more metropolitan feel, malls and mayhem. We are located within the tri-area of Palestine, Jacksonville and Rusk, they are all convenient for a grocery run @ Wal Mart or forgotten items @ Dollar General. Parks abound in the area with National Forest areas like Davy Crockett National Forest, manicured city parks, areas for hiking and golf courses. Fishing or boating on Lake Jacksonville or Cherokee Lake is moments away and 64 sq mi of beautiful water is less than an hour away at Richland-Chambers Reservoir. Far enough from the major metropolitan areas for some awesome star-gazing. Not quite a certified Dark Zone, but pretty darn close.
Oodles more information can be obtained from any of the local Visitor Centers either before or during your stay and a visit to them is highly recommended.
