Thoughtfully renovated home in SF’s Portola neighborhood with jaw-dropping city views from our deck- embodies the best in City living.

We’d love to receive you! This is a 3-bedroom home. One of the rooms is a master private suite with its own private deck & full bathroom!

Downtown SF is just ~5 miles from here (15 mins Uber/Lyft ride or 25 mins by bus). Express buses to downtown are just 2-blocks away. SFO is only 15 mins away! Street parking is available.

The space
Our cozy home has a modern look/decoration style and was recently remodeled and furnished with taste.

The house is spread between 2 floors. There's a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, patios, two bedrooms, and a bathroom upstairs. There's a private suite (w/ a bathroom) and a deck downstairs.

A washer and dryer are also offered for your convenience.

It was fun to “live like a native” while visiting San Francisco! The neighborhood is clean and quiet. Enjoyed sitting on deck with the view-furniture is comfortable. Owners are very quick to respond to questions/concerns. It does take 30-40 minutes to reach the tourist areas but we used Waymo which was fun and the kids loved. The cost was about the same as paying for parking

Nice Place

The place was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and good size beds for three adults. The rooftop deck was definitely a highlight with a great view. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing spot, great hosts!

This is a beautiful house located close to the San Francisco sights we wanted to see. The hosts were very gracious and communicated well in advance and were very easy to get ahold of. Highest recommendation!

A great 3 bedroom house with a view in SF

This is a great home in the Portola at the top of a hill with a great view of downtown and the Bay. Everything was set up nicely for us in the kitchen bath and rooms. A good place to get away in the city

Thanksgiving with SF Family

Our stay in SF visiting family was made better by staying in this area (great location!) and home. It was comfortable - from the beds, safety features, the amenities in the kitchen/bathrooms and to the well-stocked/tasty snacks - which were unexpected and thoughtful. Husband and I stayed on the lower level with its own bathroom and coffee bar - very nice touch. We used the futon in the living room for our 12 yo and he was happy to have his own space close to the kitchen. Check in/out was easy and they accommodated our odd hours (we arrived before check in) Everything was simple and stress free. And the best thing: communication with the owner (we had a parking question - it’s SF so it can be complicated) was EXCELLENT!! We are so grateful for this home away from home!

Why they chose this property

San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods - each like a small town, with a main street lined with restaurants, shops, and bank branches. There is a firehouse, a library, a couple of bars, a coffeehouse, some churches, and a Muni bus line. The Portola is tucked away in the city's southeastern corner, between Bernal Heights and Sunnydale. Not only is it's in the sunny side of the city, but it's also centrally located. It is ~15 minutes drive to downtown and the airport. Also, it is just a couple minutes to get on the freeway, so it is super convenient regardless of which direction we need to go to. Everything out here feels like a hidden gem, including McLaren Park, the 2nd biggest park, right behind the world-famous Golden Gate Park. The best part is that the park has a spectacular city view, just like our deck and it has multiple children playgroup and lakes and trails. We like the feeling of community here. The district is part of the working-class rim of the city. Some fun fact: the neighborhood has its own landmark, too - the aqua-blue La Grande water tank that towers over McLaren Park and a big 1927 movie palace called the Avenue - closed years ago, but much of the rest is still there. Another history about the neighborhood: Like in any other place, things change. The neighborhood has changed so much since its start. The first settlers were Jewish: there were two temples, and the Portola was sometimes called "Little Jerusalem." Kosher delis were on unpaved San Bruno Road and a settlement house run by the Council of Jewish Women. Later, Italians moved into the Portola, Maltese, African Americans, and Asians. Now about half of the 13,000 or so people in the Portola are Asian.
