About this property

Relaxing cabin on Beaver Lake, by Namekagon River and close to Hayward

Enjoy a quiet, relaxing time in the north woods of Hayward, WI! Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin sleeps six comfortably (2 queen beds and a pullout sleeper sofa). This year-round house is ground level and about 1300 square ft. The house is located on Beaver Lake with a 32' dock and the public beach and boat launch is about 7 houses away. You really get the best of both worlds here as the house is about 70 feet from the lake but is also a short driving distance to downtown Hayward and other attractions!!
The space
This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin. The primary bedroom has a queen log bed and the other bedroom is part of the great room. The great room is a fully converted attached garage with a queen bed set up in there as well as a couch, chairs and TV. A great place for the kids to hang or the doors can be shut for full privacy. There is a pull out couch in the living room. The kitchen is open concept and stocked with just about everything you would need to cook a full meal. There is a 2 burner Weber grill on the patio for grilling as well as a charcoal grill. The patio also has a small fire pit. The bathroom was just completely remodeled with tub/shower combo.
Guest access
I am still trying to preserve the original front door so access is with a key that will be in a lock box mounted just to the left of the door. There will be another key on the counter you can take with you during your stay so you don't have to keep putting the key back in the lock box. The code and more detailed instructions will be given to you prior to your stay. There is a paved driveway and the ability to park 3 vehicles without blocking someone in. There is also room for a trailer and a portion of the lawn by the road can be used if needed.
Other things to note
The indoor fireplaces have not been cleaned or cleared for use and are currently inoperable, but will be looked into this fall. An outside fire is welcomed! There is the small fire pit on the patio and a 100 gallon stock tank set up by the lake for the bigger fire bugs!

FAQS:

Q: Can we check-in early or check-out late?
A: It depends. Check in is at 3pm. We really would love for it to be earlier and can occasionally accommodate that but not often (our cleaner is busy!). Ask me and we will do our best to let you know as soon as your cabin is available. We and our cleaning staff have strict protocols to follow and can't always have the cabin ready earlier than 3pm. Feel free to use the common grounds such as the firepits, docks, and shoreline beforehand but please allow our cleaning crew the space they need to properly prepare your space. Check out at 11am is as late as we can go - our cleaners need to get in there to make things perfect for our next guests!

Q: Is there WiFi and is it any good?
A: Yes and most of the time. Our carrier is CenturyLink.

Q: Do we have cable TV?
A: Yes, we have Directv. We also have a Smart TV so feel free to log in to your favorite streaming services. Just remember to log out before you leave.

Q: Do we provide firewood for campfires?
A: No, however you can purchase firewood at several local convenience stores and grocery stores for $5-6 per bundle. There is also a private residence just off Hwy 63 on County Rd E that sells big bundles for $15. Often times previous guests will leave unused firewood behind so you might just get lucky and not need to purchase any at all. There is also a lot of dead wood across the street by the pond. I own the property across from the house so feel free to grab anything from there. We do have a couple lighters at the cabin.

Q: Is the water safe to drink?
A: Yes! The water is on a well. It has been tested and is safe, however it contains some rust. The in-floor heat and faucets are connected to a 77 gallon water heater. There is plenty of hot water, but the kitchen is the last part of the run so it takes a little longer to get there.

Q: Do I have to clean up before I check-out?
A: Your certainly don't have to do anything at all if you don't want to. It would be appreciated if you strip the beds that you used so our cleaner knows what to wash and leave your dirty towels in the bathtub.

Q: Is it a contactless check-in?
A: Yes, it is self check-in and check-out. You will receive a code for the lockbox a couple days before your stay.

Q: Can I swim in the lake? Is there a beach?
A: We have a shoreline but we also have a lot of snails. The public beach is maintained by the township and is a local favorite.

Q: Is there enough room to park a boat/trailer?
A: Yes! The driveway is large enough for several vehicles. If you have a trailer, you can back it in or detach and park it wherever makes sense.

Q: Do we have a boat landing?
A: No, not at our location, but the is a public boat launch is 7 doors down. You can launch your boat there and tie it down on the dock!

Q: What kind of fish are in Lake Hayward?
A: Panfish, Bass, Northern Pike.

Q: Do we have boat or canoe/kayak rentals?
A: No, we don't offer rentals but however Hayward Water Sports, M&M Rental, Hayward Power Sports and Triple A Sports offer various rentals.

Q: Are there hiking trails nearby?
A: There are many that walk around Beaver Lake. Otherwise check out the Hayward Chamber of Commerce site for hiking and other outdoor activities.

Q: Are there ATV/Snowmobile trails close by?
A: Yes. Trail access is right from the driveway. You can find trail maps on the Hayward Lakes site or Sawyer County Alliance site.

If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to answer them!
