Keith was a pleasure to deal with. The property was beautiful and the house was like new. Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful views and lots of privacy.
Keith was an awesome host! Sunset cottage is beautiful & the sunsets are gorgeous on Ski-Doo Island! We loved the outside deck as we enjoyed watching the swans, cranes and even saw an otter swimming one night sitting on the boat we rented from Wagoners just 4 minutes away. Keith and his wife provided a welcome basket that was so nice and the kitchen was amazingly fully stocked. We would stay here again and will definitely recommend Sunset Cottage : )
Amazing property , gorgeous home and Keith is a terrific host!!!!It’s a really Wonderful place -we will come again for sure and definitely recommend to our friends and family.
Best week ever. Home was beautiful. Views were amazing. Our host, Keith, was very helpful and accommodating. Spent a week fishing, kayaking and floating in the St. Lawrence. Highly recommended!!
We had a wonderful time at Sunset Cottage! The house is clean, comfortable and well appointed, and the grounds and scenery/views are great! We appreciated the kayaks that were available for our use and the ability to dock our pontoon boat so conveniently. Keith and his wife are fantastic hosts! It is clear that they truly care about the property and the comfort and happiness of their guests. We would stay here again and recommend to others.
New, cozy and very clean cottage. Keith was easy to contact, friendly and helpful. We made use of the well-suppled kitchen and spent a lot of time on the lovely deck. We enjoyed kayaking and boating.
Lovely new cottage tucked away in a quiet bay. You will need to have a boat or rent one to get there. The bay is shallow so communicate with the owner first if you have a larger boat. The property was super clean and very welcoming. There is a marina 5 minutes from the cottage that you can rent a pontoon boat from and you are only a few minutes from town. Definitely a place we would go again.
We enjoyed a beautiful week at Sunset Cottage. Keith was there to greet us and help with luggage and gave us a brief tour of the cottage. The views were beautiful with lots of activity with swans, loons, a variety of birds, and you never knew what you were going to see. The cottage was clean, modern, and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a great week on the water. The water is shallow near docking but if you pay attention to charts you shouldn’t have a problem. Keith was helpful with guidance and instruction. We had family join us from various places This was an amazing trip for them and we have some new memories and stories to last a long time!
We had a wonderful time staying at the sunset cottage! We were celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday and the size of the cottage was perfect for the 4 of us (all adults) to relax. We brought our own groceries and found it easy to cook in the kitchen every night.
The cottage is very close to Wagoner's boat rental and we had a great time exploring the 1000 islands with the boat - the sunset cottage was perfect as our home base. Keith was helpful with recommendations on where to go, leading us to a beautiful sandy bottomed area to swim. I would highly recommend staying at the sunset cottage.

Laura and her family were wonderful guests. We would love to have you stay again.
This cottage has a great deck for watching sunsets, and the location itself is just so wonderful. It is right on the water!!! Literally. I looked at other potential cabins and came across many other "cabins on the water," and they were not!!! So, be careful where you stay, because many locations may mislead you and you won't be in the best location. Also, it is clean, organized and filled with lots of ways to entertain yourselves.. (board games, tv, dock for swimming, hikes, grill, and with nice outdoor furniture) Our host designed this cottage in a very thoughtful and thorough way. We enjoyed our time here, and we hope you come and create your own magical memories! :)
We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Cottage. Keith was a gracious host, responding quickly to all of our needs. The cottage sits on a 3-acre island with views out to the mighty St. Lawrence River. It was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. The location is peaceful and quite private. You will need a boat to get to the island. We rented a nice pontoon boat at Wagoner's marina about five minutes away. There are public docks in Alexandria Bay that you can use when you want to boat into town. You can park your car at Wagoner's at no charge for when you need to come back to land for shopping or other activities. We visited Boldt Castle, which has undergone extensive renovation and is well worth the visit. Also did some great hiking on Wellsley Island at the state park. We paddled our canoe around in some of the river marshes and saw many species of birds. And of course, did lots of boating up and down the St. Lawrence River in the beautiful Thousand Islands area.Would highly recommend staying at this property if you enjoy and respect the peace and quiet of nature.
Everything about the house was amazing! We don’t own a boat so the owners provided us with a few local options, we chose Wagoner’s Marina. It was was easy to get to and the process there was smooth. Parked our car, loaded the boat and headed out to the island. The ride was about 5 minutes and easy to navigate. On arrival the owner greeted us and took our luggage right back to the house for us.
The house was beautiful inside and out. We were there as a family and used all 3 rooms and can happily report back that all those spaces were amazing. Beds/provided bedding were comfortable and the room darkening curtains were a plus for my teenage sleeping beauties. Mom and Dad loved having our morning coffee on the private deck right outside the master bedroom. It was also great to have a spacious master bath en suite.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the items we needed to cook both in and outdoors on the grill, lots of fun servings dishes as well so we could have entertained on the deck if we had been here with friends. Basic condiments were stocked and there was an adorable gift basket with some snacks for us when we arrived! Appliances were top notch and we took full advantage of all of them.
The house is nestled in a landscape of old growth trees. From the partially covered deck we enjoyed a sunset on the river as well as a summer storm. The quiet waters around the cottage made a great place to use the provided kayaks and we got a lot of fishing in from our dock.

On Labor Day weekend Jennifer and her family stayed at the property.
They were quiet and followed house rules. After they departed, the cottage underwent inspection and cleaning. They were extremely respectful, leaving the cottage clean and neat with no damage.
We would welcome their return.
