Nice apartment in Ocean Beach
Overall, it was a great place to stay. We met Dan, the host, as he oversaw the checkout of the unit next to ours. He was friendly and thoughtful, and genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a nice stay.
The apartment is well-appointed, and the furnishings are comfortable. It had a very slight dog smell at first, but once we took the pet coverings off the furniture, it went away quickly. For a place that allows dogs, Dan does a great job of keeping it fresh and clean. Not mentioning this to complain, just to inform those who are not traveling with their pup. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the host supplied coffee and creamers, which was a nice touch. Everything inside was terrific.
Our only complaint is about the description of the listing. There is parking on site, but the garage, like many beach properties, is tiny. We have a med/lrg SUV and we could not park. Street parking was easy to come by during the day, but a challenge at night after returning from dinner, etc. It would be good to mention garage size in the listing instead of being told after payment is made. Also, there is no hot tub on the property...at least we did not see one. We didn’t care, but that inaccuracy should be fixed in the property description.
We thought about giving it 4 stars because of the parking situation for us, but Dan was super-responsive and an excellent host, and that counts for a lot.
