About this property

Badlands Cabin at the Maah Daah Hey Trailhead, 5 Min to TRNP & TR Library

Modern 3-bedroom, 3-bath cabin with the Maah Daah Hey trailhead at the back patio and Rough Rider State Park a two-minute walk away. Five minutes to Medora, Bully Pulpit Golf Course, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Sleeps 10 in beds for 12: two queen suites on the main floor, eight twins upstairs. Blackstone griddle, fire pit, camper pad with 220 hookup, high-speed internet, A/C in every room and heated floors.

We built the Radlander ourselves after a bike ride on the Maah Daah Hey turned into "what if we had a cabin right here." It sits at the "Deuce" trailhead, so you walk off the patio and onto 150 miles of singletrack. Half a mile up the trail you're on top of the buttes looking down at the Little Missouri; a mile in you're above Bully Pulpit Golf Course.

The cabin: open kitchen, dining and living area with big windows facing the Badlands, polished concrete floors with in-floor heat, and a mini-split in every room for summer. Two queen bedrooms on the main floor each have their own patio and a full bath. Upstairs is a bunk room with four twins and a loft with four built-in twins, a sectional and a TV. The kitchen has a gas range, dishwasher, ice maker and dinnerware for 12. Out back: a 36-inch Blackstone griddle, a fire pit with patio furniture, and the trail.

Getting around: Rough Rider State Park (formerly Sully Creek) is a two-minute walk for river access and horse trails. Downtown Medora, the Medora Musical (June–September), Bully Pulpit, the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (opened July 2026) are all under ten minutes by car. Dickinson and the regional airport are 35 minutes east.

Bring a camper? There's a camper pad with a 220 plug on the north side of the garage. Dog-friendly with approval (one dog). Guests have the whole cabin except the garage.

Perfect location for a fun family week in Medora! Our family of two grandparents, sisters with their husbands and kids (ages 1-14) all enjoyed the stay here very much and the house held us all perfectly and comfortably. BEAUTIFUL view, enjoyed the grill, fire pit, and spectacular night sky viewing. Would stay again for sure.

The house is beautiful, comfortably accommodated eight of us. There is a hiking trail behind the property that a few of us ran every morning. Very very peaceful. We’ll stay here again the next time we come to Medora.

Overall this was a perfect spot, great location, beautiful property, comfy beds. Only negative was the water pressure, there was just enough to shower but it would have been impossible to wash my hair, which was disappointing after hiking all day.

It was a beautiful house with plenty of space, and it had everything we needed—from firewood to all kinds of activities like baseball, tennis, and more. There were also lots of games for everyone to enjoy.The views from the house were absolutely beautiful, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind in a peaceful, calm setting.We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Medora and can't wait to stay here again. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect place from infants to grandma and grandpa! Our family enjoyed the space, kitchen was equip with everything we needed to eat in, and the beautiful maah daah hey trail out the back door! Beautiful location and quick access to town!

Great place! Loved the hiking!
