We enjoyed our stay, loved the big screened porch. Only negative is the sound of footsteps from people above which did have an impact on our quiet time. Comfortable and clean and steps from beach which was wonderful.
Mike was great in helping out and answering any question. This was the best stay we have ever had in South Carolina and anywhere else we have traveled to. We cannot wait to go back and vacation there again. They were terrific.
Great location! Dated furniture, paint coverings and porch outdoor furniture needed new cushions
TV on outdoor porch did not work.

horrible mildew smell and visible mold on the toilet seats
We rented this condo for the screen porch, and it was amazing!!! We ate all our meals out there and spent many hours at night relaxing on the screen porch that looks over the sand dunes, the beach and the ocean. The condo itself was ok, but the mildew smell and visible mold on the toilet seats were less than appealing.

We thank you for the review and your constructive comments on the condo. You will be happy to know, the condo has just changed hands and the new owner will be updating most of the interior. We are going to keep the screened in porch and location, of course, which are wonderful, but will be updating the interior of this condo to have it better suit its great location and views! Thank you again and we hope you will come back for the new and improved Mariners Walk condo. See you on the island real soon!
Great for small kids, clean, and close to pool and beach
This was our first visit to Isle of Palms and this location was perfect for our family. The large screened porch with sitting area/ TV was great allowing us to enjoy the outdoors and quick access to the beach and pool. Multiple smart TVs (inside and outside) with plenty of viewing options allowing kids and adults to watch separate shows and extended the living space of the condo . The condo was very clean and nicely decorated. The property manager was quick to respond if we had an issue. We would definitely stay here again. Great trip!

Good
Excellent location. Unit was average - clean and comfortable. Need instructions on how to use TVs (4 different remotes - Struggled everyday). Bathrooms were too small. Ice maker didn’t work. Sliding door to laundry area kept coming off track.
We were very disappointed to actually see that the photos we viewed on VRBO were not accurate. The refrigerator in the kitchen is all beat up on the outside ( although it works well the looks bring down the quality of the condo) the kitchen cabinets were peeling , a floorboard in the main living area was sticking up, the furniture, though it had been cleaned , still was stained and had an odor from body sweat . The screened in porch was great except that the outdoor TV ( which is one of the reasons this appealed to my husband ) did not Work !
There was a small wooden bowl on the outdoor table that was broken when we arrived ( we did not throw it away ) and one night at 4:00 am we heard a loud crash that woke us up and it was a picture that just apparently fell off of the wall ! This condo would be great if it were refurbished and if there was a way to lock the back door from the outside so you could actually leave via the screened in porch .

Perfect Vacation
Our stay at 1C Mariners Walk was delightful. The unit was comfortably furnished with a well-stocked kitchen for meal prep. Beds were very comfortable. And the views and access to the beach and pool were the best! We would definitely stay here again!

Recently renovated but serious problems
We just returned (yesterday, 10/14/2017) from a week in this property.
.
The Good:
Very attractive condo. Recently renovated with new paint, flooring, furniture etc. The tan rug you see in the living room picture is badly spotted and really takes away from the otherwise attractive surroundings....It needs to be cleaned (if possible) or replaced/eliminated.
The Bad:
The HVAC system is essentially inop due to a break in the ductwork that results in the conditioned air being pumped to the underdeck area rather than into the condo. We were fortunate in that we were two adults and were not going in and out all of the time. If we had had kids with us, the condo would have been unbearably hot. The master bedroom was still warm, but we used a fan to route the cooler air from the living area to the bedroom. A maintenance team sent out to run a scope through the ductwork. Following are the service man's written comments on the trouble ticket:
"Little to no flow in back master bed. Basically no air flow in living room under TV because of breaks in ductwork. Lots of condensation built up on registers. Guest bed room has very weak air flow on first vent. Suggesting for wood to be removed from crawl space so ductwork can be inspected & replaced. Moldy/mildew smell when first walking in."
WE WOULD NOT RENT THIS CONDO AGAIN UNTIL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE.

Nice time at the beach.
Overall a clean and comfortable unit except for the odor. We experienced a strong musty smell when we entered the unit and after a day or two you go "nose blind", but our clothes still smelled musty when we got home so that is a problem that needs to be addressed. I didn't see the previous review until a week after we had booked or I probably would have gone elsewhere. That being said, the condo was in good order, the kitchen housewares were adequate, bring your own basket type filters if you drink coffee. The screened porch is fabulous with the view of the ocean and two ceiling fans. The community pool for this condo section is very nice and you don't have to have a pass to use it. "Just six steps " will take you down to the beach is misleading in their description because it's six steps to the board walk that takes you to the end of the building then down more steps to the path to the beach which is a good block and a half walk to the actual beach, not a big deal but if you're planning on only six steps you'll be disappointed. This was the first rental that didn't have a "Things to do/restaurant guide" book with maps and visitors comments in it so hit the visitors center before you check in. We had a very enjoyable week here and would come back if the musty issue was taken care of.

Great location, best beach in Wild Dunes!
This is an older property, but well maintained. I think it is the best beach in Wild Dunes. The screened in porch is roomy with a great view. The furniture is comfortable and in good condition. We plan on staying in this same unit again.

Unit needs a complete redo and update
Spent a week at this unit in September - great location with a great porch and a nice wide beach. But the interior of the unit needs a complete redo - it looks and feels old and dated. Kitchen needs a complete set of matching dishes and more than 1 wine glass. And the Sports card is no advantage as there are still exorbitant fees to use any of the facilities that the Sports card allows you to use.
Discovered two great restaurants - Coda del pesce on Isle of Palms and Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island. And the trip into Charleston is pretty easy so can take advantage of all that Charleston has to offer.
Would return to Wild Dunes/IOP but NOT this unit.

Thank you for your visit and for taking the time to reach out to our team in regards to your experience. I would like to apologize for your experience at 1 C Mariner’s Walk. I feel very strongly that any negative experience our guests encounter is unacceptable; not only to me, but also to our entire Beachside Team, and guest feedback is always appreciated and taken very seriously.
Our staff takes great pride in working with our guests to make sure they have a memorable experience. It is terribly disappointing that your vacation did not meet your expectations. 1 C Mariner’s Walk is a unique property in that it features one the largest screen porches on the ocean in Wild Dunes Resort. This porch is amazing! After three or four steps, you are on the beach making it perfect for young families. It is so easy to get in and out of the property and onto the beach. Many guests rent this home year after year because of this wonderful amenity. The interior of 1 C does not have many upgrades, but it is our goal to keep it clean and well maintained.
Wild Dunes Resort offers many outstanding amenities, most of which are open to all rental guests. Some amenities are associated with the private Wild Dunes Club and require a Sports Card for entry. 1 C Mariners Walk is one of a few properties in Mariner’s Walk that offers the Sports Card that allows guests to visit the following private club amenities with a daily access fee:
• Fitness Room
• Private Rental of a Tennis Court
• Wild Dunes Club Swimming Pool
• Kid’s Recreation Programs
If a visitor is not interested in the private club amenities and the fees associated with these services, the Isle of Palms features a Fitness Room and Tennis Courts for all visitors at the City’s new facility on 27th Avenue, free of charge. In addition to Fitness and Tennis, the Recreation Center features the best playground on the Island and basketball (inside and outside courts).
Thank you again for your stay and for your suggestions regarding 1 C Mariner’s Walk. They were extremely valuable to both the property owner and Beachside Team!

Great family vacation condo!
We have stayed in this condo the past two summers and have really enjoyed it. We love when you walk into the condo you look straight through and see the beach. Large screened in porch (bigger than most in Mariner's Walk), making it an easy walk out to the beach or out the back door to the pool. Pool was never crowded and the baby pool is nice for younger children. Easy, laid back beachside decor. Perfect for a small family. Beaschisde Vacations are great to rent through.

Would definitely rent again!
We have just returned from a week stay in early November at the Water's edge. The exterior grounds are very well maintained as is the exterior of the building. There is one partially covered parking space for the unit in front of the condo and extra parking for additional cars not very far away. The proximity to the beach is excellent with beautiful ocean views from the screened porch. You only have to exit the screened porch and go down a couple of steps and walk about 20-25 feet on a nicely maintained walkway before going down the steps to access the beach. The sand is for the most part hard packed and very easy to walk on between the steps and the beach itself.
The condo is decorated with comfortable and attractive furnishings and an eclectic selection of prints and wall hangings. While the well equipped kitchen was very clean and appliances in good condition, it is on the small side but this didn't bother us as we ate out most evenings. It would be fine for 2 people to be in the kitchen cooking but might be tight for more than that at one time. The starter pack of dishwasher tablets, trash bags, sponge, kleenex, toilet paper and dishwashing detergent was plenty for us for the week. Wireless internet worked well and the instructions were easy to find to access the wireless. Cell service is a little more "iffy" at least with Verizon. If we walked out to the walkway and sometimes to the hard packed sand we would have cell service without dropping calls. There are a few games in the hall closet and a couple of books.
There is plenty of drawer space in bedrooms and the master bedroom has nice sconce/ reading lamps that can be turned off at bedside. They even thought of a night light in the bathroom. It has plenty of closet space in both the master and the twin guest room. The window coverings are sufficient to block out early morning sunlight. Bed linens and towels are of nice quality and there is a selection of both fluffy/thick and less fluffy pillows.
Bathrooms are a little tight. Master Bath seemed to be about the same size as the hall bath with pedestal sinks in both. But, it was fine for us because there was a wall cabinet that allowed us to store our toiletries. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. No bath tub in this unit.
The best part of this condo is definitely the oceanfront screened porch.
