Close to Blue Mountain, Jim Thorpe, and Beltzville Lake

Relax in this newly remodeled brick ranch that has 2 levels of clean comfortable living offering all the comforts of home plus more. Perfect for families with small children or for family reunions. The well-equipped kitchen features granite counter tops and brand new stainless steel appliances with a rustic slate floor. The large covered deck has a gas grill and patio furniture for an evening meal and time to enjoy good conversations with friends and family, or simply relax on the porch swing on the shaded porch while reading a book. There is an additional enclosed patio area on the lower level.
Our home is tastefully decorated with country charm and has hardwood floors throughout the main level. Each bedroom is decorated in a theme. The Americana bedroom, white birch tree bedroom and the quilting/shabby chic bedroom have queen sized beds. The fishing room has two twin beds. For guests with a larger party we have roll away bed.
There are two full baths. The upstairs bathroom features a large granite counter top and rustic pine ceramic floors. There is also a full size bathroom downstairs adjacent to the rec room, bonus room, and laundry room.
Other amenities include new leather furniture, free WiFi , 32' and 50' flat screen TVs, pool table, ping pong table, and unique penny bar.
This vacation getaway is located in the small town of Leighton found in the Pocono mountain region. Just 1-2 hours away from new york, new jersey, and Philadelphia. It is near blue mountain and located near the foothills of the Pocono mountains. There is easy access to many local attractions…just 5 minutes from historic Jim Thorpe where you can dine, shop, and stroll through the town. Penn’s peak just 10-15 minutes away offers concerts and dining. Countless outdoor activities are minutes away including whitewater rafting in the Lehigh river(Jim Thorpe), skiing (blue mountain, camel back, big boulder) , hiking and mountain biking (Jim Thorpe, Appalachian trail) , Lehigh gorge state park, Beltzville state park, and Poconos raceway.
Our home is a nonsmoking, pet free home. Must be a minimum of 25 years old to rent this house.

Enjoyed our stay, house was perfect for 6 adults and 2 children. House is well maintained and met our needs. We visited for skiing at Blue mountain. There is some overkill with signage through the house but that doesn't impact your stay.

Winterfest Weekend

Three couples stayed at the house for a weekend getaway. It was very clean, and all basic essentials were provided. The house was very spacious and close to Jim Thorpe as well as restaurants and bars. The beds were very comfortable. We were very pleased and would definitely stay again!

Lehighton Gem Tailored for Families

We were so impressed with this property. Some of the pictures could be updated, because they don't capture how cozy and inviting this place is for Families. There are multiple areas to just sit and talk, play games, read a book, watch sports, enjoy the weather, reconnect, have a meal. Already looking forward to a return trip.

Duckers Bike Trip - 2024

Second year in a row at this property. Fits 8 adults easily with room to spare. Lots of things to do at the house and close proximity to downtown Jim Thorpe. Plenty of parking for 4 vehicles with utility trailers and 4 motorcycles. VRBO hosts are nice and accommodating. We will return again in the future. Thank you Debbie and Robin!

PERFECT

This was our second visit. The house is perfect- it is roomy and comfortable. It is clean, well maintained and well equipped. The decor is nice without being over done. The location was perfect for our needs- very convenient from the turnpike and to Jim Thorpe. We were able to have multiple people working in the kitchen at a time and we even had company for dinner, fitting 9 people around the table for a wonderful "family" dinner.The younger folks were able to go downstairs and watch tv or play pool /ping pong when they tired of adult talk. We will most definitely return!

Exceptional spacious property

We visited to celebrate a 30th birthday. All the rooms are well furnished, plenty of room for socializing, with comfortable seating on both levels. The porch and deck are also well furnished, but the cold weather kept us indoors. We went to Jim Thorpe, just down the road, and welcomed the respite from the crowds afforded by this location. Anyone planning to use Uber should note getting a ride back was impossible. Fortunately, we had a car parked in Jim Thorpe. Easy to shuttle folks back and forth, needing to park 1 car in Jim Thorpe instead of finding multiple elusive parking spots there. Hosts are terrific about communicating, too. Just about the best rental I've ever had from VRBO and other rental sites.

Nice house

We stayed at Hinkle House for a long weekend with family ranging from age 9 to 81. The property was clean and well organized. We really enjoyed the porch and the game room and the kitchen was well stocked and equipped. We were disappointed that there was no pool. The VRBO listing states pool as an amenity. There is a community pool close-by but only residents are allowed. Access to a pool was one of the reasons we chose this house. We had 8 people and this house comfortably sleeps 8. The listing states it sleeps 11. As it contains 3 double beds, 2 twins, 1 air mattress and 1 cot, stating it sleeps 11 is inaccurate. We would have given 5 stars if the listing was accurate.

Good for two families.

We were very pleased with the accommodations. The downstairs provided the perfect place for the family who had a newborn baby--they could decamp so the baby didn't bother anyone. The mattresses are overly firm, one might say hard; they would benefit from some foam toppers or something to improve the comfort. House was very clean. Location is central to everything in Lehighton which is great, as it's not a large town and it can be difficult to find satisfactory accommodations in town.

Sisters, Debbie Bridgman and Robin Masker grew up in this area. We both graduated from the Lehighton Area School District and moved out of the area living the lives of military wives. After living the military life we settled down in two separate parts of the country. Robin is now a retired teacher in the St Louis area, and Debbie is a retired deputy for Broward County in Ft. Lauderdale and owns Red Barn Creations in Gainesville Area, FL.

Why they chose this property

We are sisters, Robin Masker and Debbie Bridgman. In the early 60's our father worked several jobs to provide his family with this house, he even helped build it. This is where we grew up and we have so many memories. When we inherited the house we decided to keep it and put a lot of hard work into renovating and adding our decorating touch to return it to its former glory. Even though our jobs took us to different states, we will always call Pennsylvania our home. We come back to stay in the house often to visit family we have in the area and during the times we aren't there we rent it out as a vacation rental. We hope that you have a pleasant stay and enjoy staying in our home...'the house that built us'.
