About this property
Cozy Cabin with Access to Beautiful Moosehead Lake. Pet friendly!
Bathroom REMODEL and other UPGRADES have been completed (Summer 2023). Come check it out!
Our quiet, rustic cabin (a.k.a. camp) offers small families and couples a cozy, home-away-from-home after a fun filled day of hiking, fishing, kayaking, or many of the other outdoor activities available around Moosehead Lake. Make wonderful memories with family and friends outside on the deck, inside by the wood stove, or relaxing by the fire pit.
Two bedrooms accommodate four adults comfortably, and if needed, additional sleeping space is available with futons in the living room and private sunroom. (Reservations limited to maximum of 6 people.) A well-stocked kitchen provides all you need while away from home. Sit back in our Adirondack style chairs and enjoy your morning coffee on our quiet deck. Deer, chipmunks, and humming birds are regular visitors. A gas grill is also available for cooking up your own culinary specialties or comfort foods like burgers and dogs. The cabin's open lot provides a space to play and an inviting fire pit ready for Smores and sharing family stories. Wood for fire pit is provided.
The open floor plan creates a comfortable atmosphere with a separate sunroom if you need a little extra space. The sunroom is perfect for settling down with your favorite book, your morning coffee, or an afternoon nap. It can also be used as an extra bedroom. On cool nights, the wood stove in the living room provides plenty of warmth and adds to the already cozy atmosphere. (Firewood provided in woodbox under window.) Electric heaters are also available.
Our WIFI-free cabin is perfect for those who wish to 'unplug' while enjoying a relaxing vacation! (However, cell phone service at the cabin is reliable for most carriers.) Choose one of our family-friendly DVD's and enjoy a movie night on our flat screen TV. All you need to provide is the popcorn! Or spend an evening of laughter and family fun with the wide selection of board games and cards! Or settle down with a book from our collection or yours from home. HOWEVER, if you must tear yourself away from the peace and quiet of the cabin, the library in town offers daily use of their internet service.
Our cabin is located on quiet Harford's Point with Moosehead Lake access only 100 yards away. The trailhead to the lake is immediately across the road from the cabin and an easy walk to a quiet dock. Another good place for your morning coffee or star gazing at night! Enjoy a day of swimming and relaxing at the grassy beach (our 2nd lake access ... perfect for younger children) and an evening of grilling and sitting by the fire. Trails suitable for beginners up to expert hikers are within a short drive. The roads on Harford's Point are also an excellent place to walk, jog, and ride bikes! There are two 9-hole golf courses, Mountain Village & Golf and Mount Kineo Golf Course, which are minutes away from the cabin. The town of Greenville is a short drive away and offers restaurants, museums, grocery stores, a library, and many gift and/or outdoor shops. Kayaks, canoes and bikes are available for rent in town. You can sign up for moose safari tours and scenic plane rides. Take a scenic tour of the lake on the Katahdin, a steamboat (now converted to diesel) in use on the lake since 1936.

About the host
Hosted by Bill and Amy Roberts (Marion McManus-Property Manager)

We are a couple from Virginia who have been vacationing at Moosehead Lake since 1989. One of us is a Pennsylvania native while the other is a Tennessean. We both graduated from the University of Tennessee and landed in Virginia after getting married.
Why they chose this property
Our family just loves this cabin, and we know you will, too! It's cozy and inviting, like a cabin in the woods should be. In Maine, the cabins are called camps...the first time we walked in, we thought, 'Yes! This is how a camp should feel!' The inside is charming and inviting, yet functional. The openness of the main room provides space for family meals, board games, movies, or whatever you are in the mood for. Need a little peace and quiet? You will find the sunroom is just the place for you! Take a nap, curl up with a good book, or just chill ... your choice. Outside on the deck, you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee, evening beverage, or time with the special people in your life. Don't be alarmed by the deer wandering through the woods, the chipmunks scurrying across the deck, or the loon calling from the lake. Children of all ages will enjoy the fire pit complete with Smore's and the creation of many family memories!
We have been vacationing at Moosehead Lake since 1989, when we were a young couple and were invited up by a good friend who is a Greenville native. Many years and four children later, we are thankful to say that our family has spent part of every summer swimming, boating, hiking and relaxing at the lake. For a long time, we dreamed about buying a place of our own in this beautiful place. In fact, we drove past this property numerous times each summer on our way to the cabin where we stayed. We were so excited when the opportunity to buy it came up and we became homeowners in 2010. We hope to pass this camp down to future generations so that our grandchildren and maybe even great-grandchildren can enjoy it also. We LOVE Moosehead Lake, Greenville and the surrounding area and want others to be able to enjoy it, too!
