Family Friends Get Away

We had a weekend away with friends and family- Skiing and visiting my daughter at UVM. The house was perfect for all the activity and plenty of beds for everyone. House was clean and showers were great after a day of skiing.

This was a nice location and checkin and communication were very clear and easy. I appreciated how quickly the host responded. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes very close by, and it's quiet at night despite being off of a main road. There were a few hiccups though during the stay- the water temperature seemed to fluctuate wildly especially when taking a shower. It would get really hot (burn potential) and then cold and back again. May want to turn the water heater temp down a bit so the hottest water doesn't cause injury potential. We also had the fire alarms going off twice within about 30 min of each ither after midnight on our last night that we ended up having to call the fire department about to make sure there wasn't carbon monoxide risks. We tried the urgent maintenance number included in the booklet but got an automated phone tree and ended up leaving a message. The firefighters said they usually don't get called to this house so it might have been a fluke.

House was large enough for 5 adults for 2 nights and we didn't even use the top floor. House was comfortable and communication with host was handled well. The layout is a little strange with 2 bedrooms upstairs and no bathroom for those so keep that in mind (we had 2 folks over the age of 70 so they couldn't use those rooms). The only real negative for us was the road noise, especially from the large bedroom off the living room space as that road is busy from 5am-10pm. I recommended a white noise machine to the host to help combat it as the one night we turned the AC on in the room that was mostly what we heard vs. the road. Super convenient to the airport and restaurants within less than 1 mile walk.
