New Years In Burlington
We had a great stay at Little Maple House over New Year’s. The house is in the perfect location to walk to everything downtown and to get to the waterfront. Susan was very accommodating and easy to work with. The house sleeps six comfortably but more than that would be challenging. There is plenty of space for hanging out, reading, playing games, etc. and a nice big dining room table.

Christmas away from home
We had a spectacular time. It’s easy to see that this house is well taken care of and that the hosts go the extra mile to make you feel at home. We were traveling over the holidays with two very little ones and we really appreciated being able to send a few packages ahead, make good use of the shared spaces for eating and games, and we met a lovely Christmas tree in place! It really made the holidays away from home feel perfect.

Family Visit
Little Maple House was the perfect home for a visit with family in VT and CT. The house is cozy, the kitchen was super cute, and there was plenty of room and privacy for 3 adult couples. We hiked near the lake and enjoyed some downtown Burlington restaurants. The dining room area was perfect for us to play cards and board games. Highly recommend for a place to connect with family or friends.

About the host

Host profile image
Warm welcome from Tshen and William! Thank you for choosing Little Maple House as your getaway destination. We're thrilled to have you as our guests and would like to share our story with you. We made the move to Burlington in 2016 after spending years as architects in bustling cities. Burlington drew us in with its natural surroundings and unique charm. Over time, we fell in love with this vibrant city’s delightful blend of rich history and natural beauty. Burlington's rich history, from the American Revolution to its current focus on organic farming, sustainability and progressive politics, embodies quintessential American values. In 2018, we became the proud owners of the Little Maple House. We named our house after the baby maple tree we planted right after moving in. Originally built in 1875, Little Maple House required serious renovations. We dedicated years (and continuously) to renovate and restore from the inside out. And, now we are excited to share it with you. During the pandemic, we embarked on designing a new structure in the back, which includes a garage and a guesthouse. It took us two years to construct the new building. The two structures are now connected by a greenhouse structure. Our design concept merges the old and the new, honoring the past while embracing contemporary aesthetics. The main house exudes timeless charm, while the modern addition reflecting the complexity, imaginativeness, and forward-looking nature of the contemporary era we live in. We personally occupy the guesthouse. You may encounter us working around the house or tending to the gardens from time to time. However, we highly respect your privacy and ensure that no owner interaction is necessary. You are welcome to engage with us if you wish or simply disregard our activities based on your preferences. Ultimately, our objective is to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sincerely yours, Tshen & William
