Cute cottage

The cottage was bright and clean. It was a nice stay as there was plenty beds and place was cheery, It overlooks a bayou. The place is close to a main road with a lot of traffic that you can hear but is far enough off the road to provide for safety. It was a good place overall.

Good location and comfortable stay

Enjoyed our visit to Thibodaux while staying in the Cottage on the Bayou. Overall it was a great place to stay and I would certainly stay again. The only reason I gave the location three stars is because you do get some road noise from St Mary's Street. I worked remotely and none of my coworkers were able to hear it though.

Clean and Quaint

I stayed in the house for approximately 13 days. The house was very clean and accommodated all my needs. It is close to grocery stores and all amenities. The owner was very responsive and helpful with all questions. The house was very clean, and I felt safe at all times. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone traveling.

A beautiful, lovingly restored cottage on the Bayou LaFourche and an unexpected treasure. Spotlessly clean and fully equipped with absolitely everything you could possibly need for a stay away from home, including toothpaste! Ms Rosa is the most gracious hostess and we loved our 10 days stay. Sick to death of hotels for these marathon business trips, a VRBO rental has proven to be a winner and we are relaxed, revived and invigorated rather than worn out and exhausted. Boiling hot non stop showers, the ability to cook our own meals and best of all, quiet privacy. I cannot recommend Ms Rosas cottage more highly. Thank you Ms Rosa!!!

Horrible

It was one of the most horrible experiences ever no privacy at all. Still had a womens pajamas in a drawer. The worst part the ower obviously stays next door and we had the power go out and i had a message saying to shut the door when it was out inside then the next day was told we had left the light on in the kitchen all day with no one there and that she could tell in the middle of the day from her house. (which is impossible) really felt like she had gone in while we were gone. The day of check out we were packing going back and forth packing our vehicles and she was in her drive way just watching us and screamed to shut the door. We finally leave and before it was even checkout time she was sending pictures of stuff we had supposedly done.In just a few hours i had over 30 pictures of stuff she was claiming we had done. I had bought the insurance plan just incase because accidents are possible. I then receive a message from her telling me that she was making a claim for the damages to the insurance for what we had done. Thank God i had my husband take pictures and even a video walk through because she seemed like the type after the way she was behaving.Her messages were so insane sending pictures or bakeware we hadn't even used that i got on the phone with vrbo and went ahead and sent all of our proof of how we left the house as evidence to them. This women is nothing but making great money for a week long stay and then turning around a making insurance claims to make more

Owner is not a nice lady

It's a shotgun house, reminds me of a 'trap house' that has been painted. Smelled of bug spray and there were candy wrappers & an empty water bottle under the bed. Squished dead bug carcasses in the back door. The washer and dryer is on the back porch which is inconvenient b/c of the bugs swarming the minute you step outside. I filmed a giant roach/waterbug (about 2" long) that joined me in the shower and I have a video of that. Everything went left on my exit date. I wasn't aware that checkout was at 11 and my sons ending date at Manning Passing academy ended at 11. We were hoping to shower before catching our flight out of MSY at 6pm. So after I picked him up, I stopped at Walmart for dishwashing soap on the way back to the house. My wife called to let me know that the owner was calling her (she booked this rental) to tell me that I needed to leave. I called the property owner and let her know that camp had just ended and we were cleaning up. She stated, "I pay people for that" so I asked, "what can we do"...she stated very rudely, "LEAVE". So, my son and I grabbed all our stuff and left as quickly as we could. For three consecutive days after that, this property manager emailed and harassed my wife with pictures of our hasty departure. Sending pics of unwashed dishes, trash in the trash can and a watermelon rind left on the back porch, none of which should be an issue if you're paying someone to clean up. She was very unprofessional at the end.
