About this property

Beautiful, 1100sf, remodeled home away from home with over 120ft x 20ft of winter parking! Snowmobile trails are only a few short blocks (equal to 1 city block) away and are easily accessible from the house. Boasts all the amenities; Central air and heating, 50" TV with Roku, Wifi, bluetooth speaker, comfortable beds and bedding, all new kitchen appliances. Along with the basics, the kitchen includes a microwave, airfryer, blender, hand mixer, toaster oven and electric griddle... everything you need to make a home-cooked meal.
Enjoy coffee from the coffee bar, with a kuerig, traditional coffee pot or French press. An assortment of teas are also provided.
Enter through the back HEATED porch with all you need to store your Winter gear. Plenty of wall hooks, 2 boot dryers/heaters, boot trays and helmet hangers. A perfect place for ski equipment as well. A bonus to be able to put on warm winter gear!
The enclosed front porch is lined with windows, rattan furniture and a ceiling fan....perfect for morning coffee or a cocktail in the warmer months. A sunny day heats it nicely in the winter months.
The two bedooms upstairs have very comfortable mattresses and bedding, luggage racks, dressers and the larger has a closet for hanging clothing. There is a queen murphy bed on the main level in the living area that pulls down for additional sleeping (the same comfortable mattress as the upstairs beds) A pack-n-play is available upon request.
There are 2 full bathrooms, one upstairs with a shower, and one with a tub/shower downstairs. I should mention the water pressure is incredible!! Both bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers for your convenience. Towels, and wash cloths are also provided.
The dining room seats 6 and a high chair is available upon request.
All this and only minutes away from MTU (3.2 miles away), 1.5 miles to Downtown Houghton, 1.4 miles to Downtown Hancock, a few short blocks to Mount Ripley Ski Hill and the Hancock /Lake Linden Snowmobile Trail. Only 46 miles to Copper Harbor, 2.7 miles to the Quincy Mine (a great tour), 11 miles to McClain State Park (Lake Superior beach) and if you're lucky you'll experience the Northern lights from many places just minutes away.

Clean and convenient

Location is very convenient and close to everything. The house was very clean, neat and comfortable. Extra added touches really made it inviting and relaxing. Everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent and Beautiful Property

We drove in from out of State for an event at Houghton, MI and were very fortunate to find this beautiful property on Vrbo to stay for 2 night on the weekend. This property is very beautifully renovated, it was very clean, it had everything you will need for a family. It worked out so perfect for our family of five, it was like being home away from home. There were complementary snacks in the refrigerator which our kids enjoyed very much. There were plenty of clean towels and bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner and bath soap installed already in them in case you forgot to bring some. The interior of the home is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was adequately stocked with beautiful quality kitchen ware. If we are ever in the area again, we hope we will be lucky to stay at this property again. It was a very positive and beautiful experience for us to stay at this property. Very highly recommend. 10/10 plus many bonus points for the thoughtfulness and care that has gone into making this property one of the most comfortable stays we have ever utilized in our many travel adventures. Amazing

We had a wonderful time staying here. The home was very cute and cozy, the location was great for us since we visited our daughter at Tech. The Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you would need we enjoyed cooking some home cooked meals and spending time together.

MTU Visit

Thank you Jodi for such a beautiful place to stay while visiting Michigan Tech in January. Whoever cleans your house did an amazing job as it was spotless! We loved that you left the heater on for us in your entryway and the fact that there was a place for boots, skis, and helmets. The boot warmers were a nice touch. We also enjoyed the convenience of being so close to Mont Riley. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The driveway had ample parking and was plowed and ready for our arrival. You have truly thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable! We would definitely stay at your home again for future trips!
