We stayed here for out granddaughters graduation from Tech. It was much closer to Houghton than what was said in the listing so that was a nice surprise. The cabin was clean and comfortable and met our needs nicely. Only drawback was that it wasn't overly warm outside so not their fault.
Great location for visiting MTU. Cute well furnished cabin. The host was very good at communicating and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our time here.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The layout gives you plenty of space. The lake front property is awesome, and you are only a few minutes away from town. We would definitely stay again.
The cottage was excellent, very clean and great location. With being close to Houghton a lot of different options for dining out. With this being our first time to the up to snowmobile it was ok.Some trails good and some not rideable at all.Overall we would still return.
We had an amazing stay. So much to do in the area. Beautiful scenery and hiking. Great centralized location to explore the area. Great responsive host.
Lake stay with sunrise views on Keweenaw Peninsula
This cabin is well appointed with beautiful views of the water and sunrises on Portage Lake. It’s the perfect place and location for those wanting to feel further away on a lake but with a quick drive to the Houghton-Hancock area.
This is the second year we have stayed in this beautiful cottage. It is a great location right on the water. Saw two nights of northern lights. Super clean. Great size. Host is very easy to work with. Our family love this cottage.
The hosts were very easy to work with, the location was wonderful both for the lake frontage and the proximity to Houghton and the property was as advertised.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! We really enjoyed our time at the cabin - it was clean, nicely decorated, and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time at Randy and Amy’s place. Everything you will need is there including kayaks and paddle boards. It is a great place for exploring the Keweenaw peninsula or west to Porcupine mountains or south to Bond and Agate waterfalls Or just stay put and enjoy the water and views
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. It was well stocked, the owner was responsive and personable, and the location is perfect. We especially enjoyed walking on the old rail trail and playing in the small shallow beach. We would definitely stay again!
I have lived in Houghton since 2002, having graduated from MTU in 1988. Moved back to raise my four children and enjoy the beautiful area.
Why they chose this property
Purchased this property because of the beautiful views of Portage Lake. Moved from the area after graduating from MTU and decided this would be place to raise my family.
What makes this property unique
Lived in this cottage for years before building my permanent home on the same property. The views of the lake--whether its early morning sunrises or watching the every changing colors turn into night are breathtaking. Very serene and peaceful.
