It ia a very nice place, very spacious and clean. Location was excellent with very nice lake access and nice dock. Enjoyed our stay and wll book again.
My family loved our stay at Pauls' guesthouse. The property worked perfectly for my family of five and the lake was excellent for fishing! We definitely will be back!
This is a very nice home on the water. The wooded surroundings are very serene and beautiful, and the lake is lovely. The house itself is well-appointed, clean and comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming, but gave us our space. This was meant to be a relaxing getaway for my husband, myself and our two Westies, and the Guesthouse delivered! The peace and quiet of a comfortable house on a wooded lake was exactly what we needed. Thank you!
Scenic, private setting. Check in was smooth, the property was clean, lake was fantastic for fishing and kayaking. Enjoyed evening campfires and morning walks.
Pet friendly which is a plus. Always so peaceful. The fishing is great, most of the time, lol!Had a little fire each night which was easy to start with the firewood.
My guest and I wanted a private location where we could get away from our home lives and routines. The guest house is perfect for that. In five nights, I recall only two cars going down the drive past the guest house. We wanted a location with access to water for fishing and kayaking. This location is great for both. Lake access within 100yrds of the front door in two directions. The guest house has all the MN lake cabin features: outdoor fire pit, small dock, screen porch, tall pine trees, grill, loons on the lake. Just about anyone could lose track of what day it is, at this tranquil location. We enjoyed our short getaway. Bring all the food a drink you will need for your stay the nearest large grocery store is a little bit of a drive.
Its a great place for a family vacation. The place has plenty of room and is well kept. A nice dock area for your boat and if you want to have a campfire there is a nice area for you to enjoy!
We were surprised at how perfect this property was for our family kayking adventure! We had so much planned in the area, but opted to spend more time on the property soaking in the serenity of the peninsula.
The property was very well maintained and better than the pictures of the home on app. The space was well stocked. We didn’t need to pack the kitchen sink to have a great time.
We have been to Pauls’ Guesthouse a couple of times before, and it never disappoints! The space is clean and comfortable. The property is quiet and peaceful, and the lake is great for paddling or swimming. We would highly recommend staying here!
We went for 4 wheeling and had a wonderful trip. We didn’t need to trailer the rigs until checkout day. So much to do and the lake is beautiful. Wish we had longer to enjoy all the area has to offer.
We had a wonderful time at your house. It was perfect for our family. We had 5 adults and 1 baby. LOVED the kitchen and the great big shower. The lake was beautiful and one member of our group enjoyed fishing off the dock. Thank you for the gift bag!
This was our second time staying at Paul's Guesthouse and we enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had everything you can think of that you would need at a lake house. We enjoyed our meals in the screen porch and fires at the fire ring at night. The fishing was good as well - with many different species of fish. The welcome basket was a nice surprise as well. Thank you Pauls for the wonderful opportunity to stay in your Guest House.
This is not your typical “cabin” in the woods. It is 100% in the woods and you feel like you’re the only people there, but the accommodations felt more like being at home. The entire house was beautifully done with cool ‘up north’ art and furnishings. The main bathroom was huge with a tiled walk-in shower. The hosts stocked several items that you might forget to pack, like Q-tips, lotion, bug spray, etc. The bedrooms all had very comfy beds with plenty of pillows and blankets. They also have nice tower fans if you need them. We liked them for the sound while sleeping. It is VERY quiet on the property. Not complaining. :) The property has a nice dock that we fished off of daily. I can’t put into words how absolutely peaceful it was sitting out there. I’ve never seen water that clear before! We caught a variety of sunnies, a small bass and a mid-sized northern. We also saw a ginormous snapping turtle swim by and a couple of loons. There is a nice fire pit in the backyard and the hosts were kind enough to provide firewood. We will definitely be coming back next year, hopefully with our kids/grandkids. About the area: The property is on Big Bass Lake but there are plenty of other lakes to explore nearby if you choose. We found a cute supper club nearby on Thunderlake called Deer Haven that we highly recommend. Remer had a nice grocery store for basic supplies, Emily had a great meat market and liquor store/bait shop. For a larger grocery selection you’ll want to stop in Crosby.
This is our third year staying at Pauls' Guesthouse and we love it. The home is very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The land is private, peaceful, and beautiful. We've enjoyed walking, kayaking, fishing, and the great firepit. Thank you!
Our 2 week stay at Pauls' Guest House was exceptional! The gift basket was greatly appreciated and the custom cloth map of Big Bass Lake is a nice memento of our stay. Paul was quick to help with any questions/instructions. The location was ideal for our 2 labs. It was private, quiet and no traffic. Would stay here again.
