Wonderful spot for a getaway! Spent a weekend with my brother - hiking and exploring and just relaxing here - peaceful porch next to a lovely marsh near sooo many trails and a unique, spacious but cozy accomodation.
It was a unique place but definitely better for solo travelers. The loft area is not ideal for anyone over 5’11 and the stairs to get up to it are not very safe. There had definitely been some problems with mice and that is understandable with the location but when your pull pans out to cook with that have mice droppings on them it doesn’t make you want to cook at all.
A perfectly peaceful berkshires getaway! Comfy beds, AC, full kitchen. Wonderful backyard for dogs and very close to a bunch of easy hikes that are also dog friendly. Close to New Barrington which has a cute town center to explore. Only surprise was how loud the shower was, because of the metal tub. Very cute, and it works great but the noise of it became a running joke during our stay. Also, bears! We knew it was the mountains and very rural so it was always a possibility, but we did actually see the friendly neighborhood black bear on two occasions (once on the property in the back yard and once on a trail up the road) during our week stay so we kept the trash and all food inside and made sure to check before letting the dogs out back. 9/10 would absolutely stay here again.
We are currently on the last night of our stay here. We had such a relaxing 4 day stay. I would just advise anyone looking to stay here that the shower stall is a bit challenging to get into and out of and if you have mobility issues perhaps be prepared to be challenged entering and exiting the shower. If you can live with that then this place is fantastic. I loved being able to have a camp fire every night. And the grill was great. Living in the city in an apartment I don't have the opportunity to grill outdoors or have a fire pit so that's what I loved most about staying here and if we plan another trip this will be my go to listing. The host was extremely responsive via chat, and if I needed to, she left her phone number for communication.
We had a wonderful stay here! The property was exactly as pictured and described, and was the perfect place for our family while we were visiting the area. As others have noted, it is a bit tricky to find in the dark the first time, but the directions and address were accurate so our map led us right there. My husband is 6 feet tall and had to duck when in the loft bedroom upstairs, but it was still a cozy space and we really enjoyed it. Our kids loved having their own space downstairs, too! There is a smart tv and dvd player with a ton of DVDs available. Also tons of books, too! Cell service here is basically non-existent, so having everything saved (like the door code and wifi password) would be helpful before getting to the property. I had the door code saved but forgot to note the wifi ahead of time. I would've liked to have seen a folder or a binder in the home with helpful info, like house rules, wifi, check out instructions, etc. It would've made check-in and out easier to have everything in one place that didn't require logging on to the website/email since service isn't great there. There was a small sign with the wifi password on a paper above the fireplace but I totally missed it when first looking, as it appeared to just be the gas fireplace instructions, so I didn't have wifi access until the next day when we were able to get service once in town. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again!
It was a nice stay over near a state park to hike and cute towns to get food. The kitchen was well equipped. The owner was very quick to respond and was very helpful. We were lucky to find this place!
Lovely working holiday in this cozy cabin. The views of nature were inspiring to this harried writer. The accommodations were clean and comfy leading to a productive yet restful experience.
Cabin was very clean. Hostess was lovely.Fireplace is in the dining room, not the living room, which is disappointing.Upstairs loft has VERY low ceiling and the ladder up to the loft is quite an adventure. It was fine for a simple place to sleep for a night.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Sportsmen's Lodge. The space is cozy but usefully divided into separate spaces, with a comfortable living room and well-stocked kitchen. The large lawn with a picnic table is suitable to outdoor recreation and relaxation. A great getaway for spending time with family and friends.
Great little cabin close to enough to good hiking spots. The kitchen is well set up and has everything you need to cook proper meals. If you are taller, the upstairs loft with double bed is not for you.
A cozy cabin feel in a secluded park of the Berkshires. Only a 15-20 minute drive to GB. Beds weren't the best quality but after a long day we slept great. Could definitely be used for a group of friends or family.
