About this property

Middle of Everywhere. 3 BR!

3 BR Suite in wonderful old farmhouse steeped in local history. You are renting the 1st phase of the rebirth of this grand old home, the upstairs 3 br suite with full bath. The shared porch, overlooking the Penobscot river is what makes this home truly wonderful, and the rooms you are renting are all newly updated with modern HVAC and the full bathroom has been completely remodeled.

The space
3 Bedrooms and private bath. The largest bedroom includes a small common area with sofa and tv for communal gathering. The porch is the place though, fully screened, with a commanding view of the Penobscot river valley and Bucksport across the river, it a wonderful space to dine, play games, or have a glass of wine and conversation. The space does not have a kitchen, BUT, it does have a small fridge, microwave, hot plate, and a barbecue grill with a side burner. Dirty pans/dishes? Just put them in the crate on the porch at night and we'll put out clean ones for the next day.

Guest access
You have exclusive use of the 3 bedroom suite. Your host may join you for a cup of coffee on the porch, but feel free to spread out and make it your own.

Other things to note
This is a wonderful area less than an hour from Acadia and Bar Harbor or the bioluminescence tours in Castine, lakes, streams and the Penobscot river all around you. Charming Bucksport is 5 minutes away across the river. Castine, Sears Island, Belfast, Stonington, Blue Hill, Bucks Harbor, all within an hour. BUT, don't forget to plan a day or two just relaxing on the porch in the temperate months.

About the host

Hosted by Daniel Pelletier

Host profile image
Your primary host is Daniel, who lives on the property and is currently continuing to renovate the outside, and the downstairs. Daniel works remotely as a technology attorney and part time as a musician and songwriter. Lisa is Daniel's brother and she and her husband Gary, are co-owners and co-hosts. Together they own a fiber farm in Ithaca, NY featuring goats and alpacas.

Why they chose this property

Take a drive around and you won't ask again. Gorgeous scenery everywhere, especially within 500 yards of the house, with the beautiful bridge overlooking the Penobscot valley.

What makes this property unique

The former post office for Prospect, this is an almost 200 year old farmhouse that was nearly ready for the wrecking ball, but the grand old lady has proven that she has some beautiful and gracious life in her yet. A bit of a facelift and she is showing herself to be a lovely, warm, graceful place to spend your time.
