This property is an A! Perfect private setting and has everything you need within short driving distance. Hosts live behind cabin and are wonderful . Can not say how beautiful and clean the cabin is, second time staying there and hope to come back again!
Awanagjo is everything one could ask for on a home away from home. Quiet setting on a lake where you can do as much or as little as you want on a vacation to Maine. Highlight was the hummingbirds. I loved the use of Kayaks. Most of our time was spent hiking in Acadia National Park. About an hour drive to most places in the Park. It was nice to come back to the Cabin after the crowds and traffic encountered in the park. If you like seafood there is multiple places in which to get it close by. I would definitely come back if we ever find ourselves coming to Acadia again in the future. The host is close by and very receptive to any questions you might need help with.
We absolutely loved the cabin and especially the screened in porch where we watched the hummingbirds! It had everything we needed and was so relaxing to stay there! Thanks Nancy!
The cabin is your home away from home. It has all the amenities you could think of. It was so peaceful sitting in the screened in porch watching the hummingbirds and seeing the water in the distance. Very clase to Bar Harbor and Acadia.
The cottage was perfect, it was quiet and peaceful and it had everything we needed! We used it as a home base as we explored the area. One thing to be aware of is the dock area is not conducive to swimming, very muddy, but there are kayaks and a canoe that you can take out into the clear water. I would definitely recommend this property.
The home was absolutely nostalgic and beautiful. It felt like home. I’m from Maine originally and it was a perfect retreat for me and my family. The home has everything you could possibly ask for and wa fully equipped. I will definetly be renting this again when I come back to Maine.
We loved Nancy place great host cabin is immaculate great supplies we had our 7 yr old granddaughter with us she loved the upstairs and Kayaking The state of Maine is very beautiful and relaxing highly recommend great vacation!!
The property is beautiful and so very comfortable. We had such a wonderful time hanging in the front porch listening to the sounds of nature and going out on the pond in the kayaks. We would love to come back!!!
As my sister and mom kept repeating, "I am sad that this was our first time at a cottage in the forest, now our expectations are set so high by this one that nothing will ever compare."
This place was cozy, clean, and beautiful. It had everything you could imagine, and the access to a private pier to the lake was amazing. My family and I spent a wonderful time there. 1000/10 would recommend.
The cabin is the perfect example of a Maine getaway. Perfectly situated between Bar Harbor and Bucksport.
A short drive to the bustling Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and to come back to the peace and quiet of the woods. The owner meticulously takes great care in having everything you need for your vacation. All you need to bring is your clothes and showering supplies. Absolutely loved everything here. Exceeded expectations.
The cottage is clean and well-maintained with local and distinct decorations that add interest and beauty to the place. The location is lovely and the pond is quiet, picturesque and serene. Check-in and check-out were easy and written instructions from the owner are clear and easy to follow. Surrounding towns have much to offer in the way of dining, shopping and recreation. Only thing to keep in mind is that little ones (2 and under) may get into some of the items displayed at eye level.
Just loved this cottage. It was exactly as described and couldn’t have been more perfect for our stay. Very well appointed, very quaint rustic cabin feel stocked with everything you need, AWESOME loft with balcony and a nice screened porch. Seriously, I wanted to move in! My 2 dogs were welcomed and they loved it as much as we did. Owners Nancy and Richard were great and it was a pleasure meeting them. Cottage is in a nice secluded area that is quite and peaceful with a pretty view of the lake through the trees. Plenty of hiking near by......Great Pond Mt with beautiful views and Peters Brook Walking Trail in Blue Hill, complete with waterfall.....beautiful. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!
The pictures online do not do this cabin justice. This is such a beautiful cabin in a wonderful secluded spot. It is back in the woods just far enough along a beautiful pond, but not too far out that getting to the main road and getting to various locations (Bar Harbor, Arcadia Park, Etc) was very easy. The cabin was spotless and clean!! It has everything you need. A fully stocked kitchen, extra towels, linens/blankets, books to read in a comfy book nook corner of the loft, WiFi , cable TV, can't think of anything they didn't have there for their quest, even fresh flowers to welcome you! The host was very responsive if we had any questions. They have Kayaks and a personal dock there for your use. They also had a supply of fishing rods and gear for fishing in the pond. We couldn't of asked for a more beautiful picturesque place to stay for our first trip to Maine! Would highly recommend this Cabin for anyone traveling to Maine. Our two large dogs loved the roominess inside the cabin and outside they loved being able to run without a leash without worry of traffic. Other cabins in the same area, allowed for you to still feel you were safe and near others but not to near ( if you know what I mean). The host lives out back, a short walk to their place if you need anything or just want to say hello. Our lab of course loved swimming daily in the pond! AAA+ Thank you again for allowing us and our dogs to stay in this awesome cabin in the woods!
This is a great experience for all of us who come a long distance year after year for Maine’s natural beauty and the hospitality of the people. Our hosts are so kind and have created a uniquely cozy cottage. We have all we need and more. We are coming back next year.
