The glorious memories we are taking back with us! The first glorious view of the lake from Flat Rock, the shooting stars and a glimpse of the Milky Way, family games in the cozy, comfortable cabin, picking apples from the orchard, turkeys and deer strolling in the blueberry fields. Loved the charm of the town of Ellsworth and the wild beauty of Acadia. We could not have picked a better place to land for this trip. Lots of loving touches in this wonderful cabin! Hope to return!
The camp was just as described. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. You get to watch the most beautiful sunsets from inside or on the lake. It is also centrally located to many places of interest, great food, and beautiful scenery. Can't wait to book another visit!
Flat Rock provided a peaceful vacation week for our family. We loved the location. The lake was easily accessible and our kids swam almost every day. It was a short drive to both Bar Harbor and Bangor but for a day trip to each. The house had everything we really needed stocked for basics, we went into town and picked up groceries after making our plan and thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen/dining view of the lake.
So hard to leave Flat Rock cabin! The views of Branch Lake are stunning. We enjoyed sitting on the flat rock for the sunset. The cabin has so much charm from the tree post to the stained glass. This cabin has been lovingly cared for by family and it shows. Our favorite VRBO so far! We would stay again in a heartbeat. We are 4 seniors and just enjoyed relaxing in the beauty but they provide kayaks and other amenities for those who wish. Host is very responsive.
What an iconic Maine lakehouse vacation! The house has plenty of space, and did I mention seemingly never-ending views of the water?! Not only was it beautiful, it had amenities galore, to include kayaks, life jackets, fishing poles and gear, board games, puzzles and lots of Maine guidebooks! We would definitely do this again!
Beautiful area, lakeside. Had a very relaxing comfortable stay at this lovely cozy home. The weather wasn’t exactly on our side but we enjoyed staying in and relaxing and making puzzles and memories. Close to Bar Harbor and Bangor. Great view from Flat Rock. Wish there were a few less trees so you could have a better view of the lake from inside but that’s minor. Had a great time!!
The house at Flat Rock was great. It was beautiful inside, spacious, comfortable, very well stocked, great view, lots of things to do that were supplied for us. We didn't get to enjoy the outside much because of the weather, but it would be a great spot in the warmer months. It is about 45 minutes to Acadia and about 35 minutes to Bangor. The house was easy to find, with directions supplied by the owners. All information needed was in a binder in the house, which helped a lot too. Internet went out a few times, probably because it's a remote area. Plenty of room for sleeping for a larger party than we had. Would definitely recommend staying there.
Cabin was well furnished and cozy. The sunrise and sunsets were simply beautiful. Loved the apple orchard down the road. Thanks for sharing this jewel!
This place is a picture perfect getaway, Quite, secluded and peaceful. Just the right size for family or just a couple. The only negative is that we had to leave.
The cabin was great! It was beautiful and a perfect place to stay to get away from it all!

My husband's grandfather built this camp in 1940. We recently purchased the cabin and have spent many months renovating it. We added AC/ heating, an extra bathroom, new electrical and plumbing, washer and dryer, many new windows and flooring. We love Flat Rock (which is an actually place on the backside of the cabin, for which is got it's name!). And we can't wait to share it with you....
Why they chose this property
This camp is a centerpiece for our family and we want to share it with you.
What makes this property unique
