DON’T MISS OUT BEING ON THE WATER. Time to book FOR FALL

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR 2024 SEASON GUESTS for allowing us to share the wonders of Sandy Point and 19 On The Bay. “Do not miss out on this Slice of Heaven”... that is what a guest wrote in their review about what 19 ON THE BAY is !

19 ON THE BAY is just steps away from the Penobscot Bay and a private sandy beach. If you are looking for a cozy, relaxing, New England cottage in Mid Coast Maine with you being just steps away from your own private sandy beach then look no further than
19 ON THE BAY !

19 ON THE BAY is a seasonal cottage that has been fully renovated and beautifully decorated and this one story Sandy Point cottage is ready for you to enjoy. Two bedrooms (queen size mattresses) with ceiling fans, 1 bathroom with a full sized shower, 2 comfortable living areas with sofas and chairs to relax in and a fully equipped kitchen are just a few of the characteristics of this quaint Sandy Point cottage.

19 ON THE BAY is ready for you to come and settle in. A large, flat screen TV/DVD, books, games, soft bedding and towels including beach towels along with extra toiletries if you forgot something all available for your convenience and comfort. The pantry is stocked with Tea Bags, Coffee, Bottle Water, Sugar, Artificial Sweeteners, Creamers, Condiments, and everything you need to make Smores in your private Fire Pit. Enjoy !

As far as your eyes can see is the blue waters of the Penobscot Bay which is just a stones throw away. From the wall of the windows in the four season porch, the kitchen, dining room and living room you get to relax and melt away in the sound and the sight of the waves that rush back and forth on the private sandy beach that awaits your feet in its sand. Even when you wake up and look out the bedroom door your view is none other than the Penobscot Bay.

As sunlight fills the cottage through the bank of windows that surround the cottage and the sea air flows through its rooms you may not want to leave your comfortable surroundings but you would miss so much. Kayaking, fishing, sailing, swimming, day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Fort Knox, eating at Young's Lobster Pound, enjoying the newly open Gastro Pub "Hey Sailor", touring Marine Museum, Antique and Art Galleries. Small towns of Bucksport, Searsport, Belfast, Lincolnville, Camden, and Rockport all bring their New England charm to you with quaint shops, eateries, and beautiful views of the ocean as you travel up and down US1.

19 ON THE BAY provides you with everything you will need to have a holiday that will leave you breathless. Please come and find out for yourself why we call Sandy Point, Maine and 19 ON THE BAY our "little piece of heaven.

Restful with amazing view

My husband and I and our adult son enjoyed four days at this incredible place! The home is beautiful and cozy and well stocked. Communication with the host was excellent. We especially enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in enjoying the view. The kayaks were also a nice touch and we enjoyed paddling in the bay! We went to Bar Harbor and also hiked in Acadia national park, which was only an hour drive away. We also went down to Camden one day, which is another picturesque Maine village!

Perfect Cottage

This cottage was ideal in many ways - private with gorgeous views. Spacious open layout, decorated with an artful eye, clean and cozy. Within an hour of Acadia but out of the fray of the traffic and crowds of the tourist spots. Steve and Carol have thought of everything. They give a warm welcome and are responsive to arising needs. We used this as a home base for days of adventuring and always looked forward to returning to the quiet comfort of 19 on the Bay.

Amazing first trip to Maine

Carol and Steve are wonderful hosts! We came 2500 miles from Montana and could not have been more pleased. From the time we drove around the corner to see the most perfect cottage on the water to the time we drove away our vacation was wonderful, even with 2 days of rain. The cottage has everything you need to feel at home. We loved having the beach right out the front door. For 5 days we explored Acadia NP, Lubec, hiked Black Mountain, Bucksport (eat at Friars) and relaxed in "our" cottage!! The Maine puzzle is great to do to learn about Maine.

Amazing!

This was my first trip to Maine and it did not disappoint! The cottage and views were absolutely GORGEOUS! The owners were so friendly and accomdating during out stay (they met us with flowers and cupcakes since it was our anniversary and my wife's birthday!). We loved the list of restaurant recommendstions since we were unsure of where to get good food. We also loved the outdoor fire pit and smores items provided, including hot cocoa (which even includef white hot chocolate, which I love since I don't like regular chocolate). They thought of everything to make guests comfortable and we loved relaxing there after a day of exploring the area. We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous view, wonderful hosts

This cottage is absolutely ideal! It is adorable, fully equipped , and has a beautiful bay view. The care the hosts take made it the best vacation rental we’ve ever had! They provide kayaks, fire pit with starter and wood ready to go, ingredients for S’mores, comfy Adirondack chairs , bug spray, and more. They are welcoming hosts who really make their guests feel at home with all the extras and special touches inside. If you forgot something, it’s probably in the apothecary jar in the bathroom! This is a first class rental in an ideal spot for visiting so many places. We will definitely return!

A perfect vacation

We stayed at the cottage for 2 weeks and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our summer vacation to our favorite location. Carol and Steve thought of everything to make us comfortable and the cottage is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed being so close to the water and enjoyed watching the tides change. We used the provided kayaks for a fun paddle around the area. We visited some of the local sites - Fort Knox and the Penobscot bridge observatory. We spent time in Acadia National Park. We went on a whale tour which was phenomenal. All of these were day trips due the the ideal location of the cottage. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to come back someday.

Picture Perfect Cottage

When you walk into “19 on the Bay,” you feel as though you are stepping into a picture in a magazine. The cottage is beautiful on the inside, as well as the outside. It is clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything you might need for your stay. The ocean view is absolutely breathtaking! Multiple outside seating options are thoughtfully provide for you to soak up the scenery. The cottage is conveniently located on a quiet bay with easy access to grocery stores and restaurants. Acadia and Bar Harbor are a pleasant one hour drive away. We loved every moment we spent at the cottage. Thank you, Steve and Carol, for sharing your “little piece of heaven” with us.

What a wonderful stay!

We loved our time at Carol & Steve's cabin. The cabin itself is beautiful, all the furnishings are comfortable and it has everything you need for a stay at the beach. Carol & Steve are nearby, helpful and available, all the while affording their visitors all the privacy you desire. The location of the cabin is one of the best. On a private drive, a small cove, near the entrance to the Penobscot River, its beauty, breeze, and water views astound. Watching the water and wildlife is something I will carry with me forever. The location is convenient to Bucksport, Belfast, Blue Hill and about an hour from MDI and Stonington. My husband and I stayed mostly by ourselves, but the 3 nights, when 2 friends visited, we had plenty of space. Visitors will not be disappointed. We are so grateful for our time spent there.

Beautiful Serene Waterfront Cottage

We couldn't have picked a better place for our first stay in Maine. We were looking for a place on the water with a great view and location and we got it. Carol and Steve have to be proud of the way they remodeled their cozy little cottage, it was perfect. They were above and beyond the amenities and "extras" of any place we ever stayed at, and it was nice to know they were there if you needed them. They just about thought of everything you could ever need. Our only regret is that we left so early in the morning, we didn't have a chance to say our goodbyes. This is the first place we will look at when returning to Maine. Thanks again for a wonderful stay! Rae & Dave

Paradise on the Bay

Everything said about 19 on the Bay online was true -- and more! The location and setting is beautiful, pristine and peaceful. Our hosts, Steve and Carol, were fabulous! They were congenial, hospitable and offered wonderful local tips. The cottage is beautifully decorated and had thoughtful welcoming touches like fresh flowers, Pirouettes, two Whoopie pies and supplies for making S'mores in the fire pit. If this kitchen doesn't have it, you don't need it. The cottage is well furnished with everything you might need and just where you would expect to find it. The location was perfect for day trips to Belfast, Bucksport (MacLeod's Restaurant was great and also has a Hanaford's grocery), Fort Knox (amazing engineering), Camden (Marriner's with "World's Best Blueberry Pancakes" and they just might be), Castine (a history lover's paradise), Bar Harbor, Acadia. Bucksport was only 8 minutes away and Acadia National Park, the farthest away, was under an hour. Even if you didn't go a single place, just kicking back in the cottage would be marvelous. The moonlight on the water at night was magical. The tide ebbing in and out and walks on the beach were like relaxation therapy! Sunrises were gorgeous. We highly recommend 19 on the Bay and hope to return soon!

Let's start with the obvious, the property is stunning. The views are amazing. The location is super convenient for day trips anywhere northern mid coast to down east. Carol & Steve are gracious hosts, who greeted us upon arrival. The house is so perfectly appointed with anything and everything you could want or need. Kim & I said a couple times, "I wonder if they have ..." and they did. We enjoyed coffee outside every morning. Reading the guest book it is clear why this Little Slice of Heaven has the resounding positive feedback it does, everyone says the same thing, it's hard to leave. We would happily rebook for another amazing week.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and immaculate, with many extras to make the stay easy. The hosts were wonderful, friendly, nearby, helpful but not intrusive. The grounds, beautifully manicured, the beach and view a joy. Friendly neighbors on the beach. This place is peaceful; perfect for quiet living people, but kayaks available for those more adventurous. Loved every minute!

Steve and I own this wonderful, cozy cottage on the waterfront of the Penobscot Bay. Our home is directly across the road from the cottage. We are always available if you need us but if you don't we will stay away and let you enjoy your holiday at this beautiful, homey cottage in Midcoast Maine.

Why they chose this property

19 On The Bay is located on a PRIVATE ROAD with only 13 homes in this coved area called Mill Cove. Penobscot River opens up to the Atlantic Ocean and the cottage is just steps away. Odom Ledge where seals rest is a short kayak trip and a roaring fire in the fire pit on the property is a beautiful way to end your day.

What makes this property unique

Everything ! It offers you a home away from home with everything you will need for your stay. Water, kayaks, fire-pit with S’mores, cozy, warm blankets inside and out, Loons, Seals, Eagles, and you may even have a moose siting!
