Great Basement!
Diane was a great host, ensuring my friends and I had what we needed. Eugene is a damp, cold place and Diane was quick to help us stay warm. The basement was a beautiful renovated space of a historic house. Bedrooms were cozy and clean. Kitchen had most of the essentials for making meals. Check out was a breeze! Location is quiet but still close to campus so it's a win win!

Exceeded Expectations
Lovely property in a beautiful, quiet, neighborhood. Wonderful kitchen, but also only a few blocks from a great little selection of restaurants. Love all the natural light, you don't feel like you're in a basement. Diane was great and communicative.

About the host

Host profile image
Our family has lived in this home since 1915. We have a mini-Australian Shepard named Banjo who will greet you upon your arrival.
We enjoy boating, fishing, gardening, wine tasting, spending time with our children & grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

We acquired the home from Blanche McCully (grandmother) back in 1979 & have been the family home caretakers ever since. We hosted yearly summer potlucks until a couple years ago & are constantly in the yard doing something which allows us to chat with the neighbors regularly. I know every neighbor within a 2 block radius & am happy to call them friends as well as neighbors.

What makes this property unique

Our beautiful historic property is on Fairmount Blvd. just below Hendricks Park. We have a 1/2 acre in the city & consider it our mini-farm with 100 year old pear, filbert, apple trees & a Concord grape arbor. Depending on the time of year, the flower beds are bursting with color (if the deer haven't eaten them). The original house was moved 40 feet down the hill & has blossomed into what we have today.
