Cute cottage with nice lake access. Perfect for a weekend to relax. Also served as a good base point for kayaking local rivers, we will hopefully book a fall trip.
Charming cottage near a lovely lake. Quiet during this time if year. Prompt communication with Dawn from the scheduling in May. The cottage had all of the conveniences we needed. Added plus was dog friendly!! A truly welcoming experience! Would highly recommend!
It was a great location right on the lake! We grabbed a burger within walking distance from Sunset Bar & Grill! The cottage had everything we needed! Definitely would stay again!!
Cozy living room. Entry porch is a bright sun room in the morning. Access to the beach. Deck overlooks the lake. Rural setting with ag fields next to cottage. Perfect location.
Cozy cottage. Photos showed the room sizes well, and the place was very clean. It was a wet weekend but we still enjoyed the views of the lake. We didn't do any cooking - enjoyed both Sunset Bar & Grill and North Shore Chop House instead, so convenient to walk to both! House is adequately stocked with towels, dish soap, hand soap, and coffee, just bring your toiletries and you're all set. Great communication with Dawn; she even checked in with us as severe storms approached the first night of our stay. Loved being able to bring our dog for a weekend of exploring the area!

Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m glad you enjoyed the lake views and had a great time exploring—even with the rainy weather. Love that you got to try Sunset Bar & Grill and North Shore Chop House, and that your pup could join too 😊
We’d love to host you again anytime!
Perfect respite from days on the road! Spent two quiet days here enjoying the lake and nearby Madison. Kitchen is fully loaded. House was clean and cute as a bug! We will be back!

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and that the house felt like a perfect break for you! Thank you for your kind words about the kitchen and the space — we love hearing that guests feel comfortable and at home. We’d be delighted to welcome you back anytime.
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy two-bedroom cottage on the lake. The home was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our getaway. The patio offered a beautiful, view of the water, and while we didn’t use the firepit, we loved spending time sitting by the lake enjoying the peace and quiet. The property is in a great location with two dining options within walking distance. The nearby supper club was especially amazing and definitely worth trying if you stay here. Overall, a relaxing and serene place to stay—I’d happily return!

Thank you so much Marion! So glad you all enjoyed our stay! Come back anytime!
No complaints about the spot! We were a little disappointed in the lake (definitely not swimmable) but that’s mostly on us for not doing our homework.

Thanks for coming! Many people do swim in the lake. It is a shallow lake in general and some times of the year the water is even lower. Shoreline can be mucky but if you walk out about 100 yards it is sandy and only about knee deep. :)
I stayed here while I was attending a continuing education class; it was a perfect, cozy little retreat to help me unwind in the evenings. Communication with the host was great, and the little extras like access to lake gear were a nice touch! I loved sitting down on the pier and catching the live music from the nearby Sunset Bar. It was incredibly peaceful and exactly what I needed after a long day in class.
A great place to get away from the rat race. Life moved as slow as the water we floated on. Clean, cozy and convenient - we couldn't ask for a better cottage by the lake. Great for swimming!

Thank you so much for staying at the cottage! So glad you had a great stay. Thank you for leaving the cottage in great condition! Come back anytime!
Dawn was a great host, communicated everything in advance, answered our questions timely, and everything was exactly as represented on VRBO about the property. We were a little concerned about 5 of us staying there from the pictures, but there was plenty of room to accomodate us all. Everything was very clean, and worked as intended. Check-in/out were at reasonable times, and location was convenient to get to eating establishments or the grocery store in town. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here if in the area. Gave 4* for location only because the lake was quite choppy and is very shallow.

Thank you Jason! Yes, Lake Koshkonong is a shallow lake in general. The deepest part is only 7 feet and where our property is located you can walk out about 200 yards and still be standing in knee high water.
This well-furnished, two bedroom gem fit our needs perfectly as we participated in the WI Special Olympics Summer Games at UW-Whitewater. We enjoyed the cozy feel of the home with its great lake vibes. It was an easy walk to the lake to launch my kayak. Enjoyed the patio with the lake view and even grilled out one night. We also made the short walk to Sunset Bar and Grill for tasty flatbread and live music.
Our host, Dawn was easy to reach and we appreciated how she periodically checked in to ensure all was well.
