This cozy lake house was built by one of the original German Scientists who came to work in the space program with Werner Von Braun in the 1950's. A group of them built houses in this quiet cove of Lake Guntersville because it reminded them of their mountainous native land. They were known to spend hours working in their beautifully landscaped yards and then gather in the late afternoon to swim or float on rafts and visit with friends and neighbors in the quiet lake setting.
The house is perfect for accommodating a family who enjoys being together and entertaining friends of all ages. It is great for a family gathering because it has many open spaces for gathering inside and outdoors and plenty of comfortable beds. Great private boathouse (built in 2003) and party dock great for swimming, fishing or even star gazing. Features a nice flat yard for kids to play, ideal for backyard football.
The boathouse has two boat slips available plus one jet ski slip. The porch is covered and has an expansive view of the yard and lake. It is well protected even during rainy weather and in fact is very comfortable to sit and watch a storm blow by. The water is eight feet deep at the dock with a gradual slope to the shore making it perfect for swimming.
There is a large comfortable room for gathering around the fireplace in colder months, and a separate room for piling up and watching TV or movies. There is also a downstairs playroom/bunkroom for the kids with a separate TV. This abundance of living spaces make this a comfortable stay no matter your style of relaxation.
Lake Guntersville is world famous for its bass fishing. We have pulled in 5 pound bass right off the dock. Honeycomb is about eight miles west of the town Guntersville, and 20 minutes from Huntsville city limits. A public access boat launch is conveniently located one mile from the house.
Early check-in/late check-out may be available if reservation schedule allows. Charge for early check-in or late check-out is $75 each.
Bed configuration: Bedroom #one, King-size bed. Bedroom #two, Queen-size bed. Bedroom/sleeping porch #three, two single beds with one single in the living room. Bunkroom/playroom #4, four single beds.

Our time at the lake was amazing! Enjoyed Cathedral Caverns and the US Space and Rocket Center. Enjoyed the birds and an albino squirrel in the yard. Thanks for a relaxing, clean place to stay.
Great Location and Neighborhood. Could really be nice if home had a few upgrades to the furniture. But overall it was a good place to stay and memories were made. We had a hiccup in the beginning but our Host Jim was right on top of it! Thanks again Jim!
Last minute vacation chose to do a fishing trip on lake guntersville weather was great House was very accommodating Little big for two people sleeps 11 owner was very accommodating use of boathouse was very nice for our boat everything is new in the boathouse one of the boat lifts was not finished yet but still new and very nice other boat lift already had a boat on it garage doors have not been fully operational yet because of being new but did work manually quiet neighborhood besides the dog next door barking All in all very nice quiet weekend on the water and broken egg is a very good place to go to breakfast while you're on the water at City harbor they're bloody Marys are great
Loved this property! It was suitable for lots of people and the basement was great for the pre-teen and teens due to the great noise canceling benefits. The water view is absolutely beautiful and you can swim right off the dock. Would certainly love to stay again!
Large house, lots of room. Nice covered porch with ceiling fan that looked at the lake. Dock was in good shape and allowed for much fishing and fun. Owner responded to all communication. Thank you!
Very large although a bit dated needing up grades but perfect for 7 guys w 3 boats. Very large indoors and very comfortable beds. Nice extra fridge in garage was very handy
We met family there and stayed for the weekend. The nice size yard was great for our running kids, everyone enjoyed the lake view. There was plenty of room for all 10 guests.
Very nice older house. Great boat dock. Will definitely stay here again.
For the people with boats there is plenty of room to park trailers but getting the boat / trailer in the driveway is a little tricky.
We had 8 men in town for a golf weekend, good location and slept us comfortably. Used the fire ring and sat in the dock and had a beverage and listened to music.
A lot of space. This has a camp feel to the property. Like a boys scout sleepover. Not too shiny so don’t worry about messing anything up.
My kids caught their first fish here so the price was priceless to see that. God bless y’all.
Me and my children and grandchildren stayed a week. We absolutely loved it plenty of space . Loved sitting on back porch watching sunrise. Kids loved the lake . Probably best vacation we have had since my children have been grown . We usually go to beach but tried something new and we are so glad we did. Thank you for sharing your home with us ❤️

Fishing trip
Older house with some questionable wiring and inadequate outside lightning. Driveway is tricky to back a boat in and definitely not enough room for 4 bass boats! It would be fine for a small group.
Fun place to stay- The porch (with dartboard) seems nice but it was too cold out to use it. We found plenty of room for our family (although keeping the downstairs bedroom warm was a challenge). We had fun in the kitchen and the great rooms, and trying to guess what part of the the house was built when.
The lake views are beautiful, and the neighborhood is nice for walking, with good hiking nearby. All in all, we had a good time!
We were so happy with our rental. The owner responed quickly for the reservation. The house was perfect for us. Great boat house and dock. My husband caught a 6 plus pound bass and a 30 pound catfish! We have been to lake Guntersville 2 times before and the fishing was best this time. We can't wait to come back. We would definitely rent this property again. It was so quiet and the way the yard is you feel like you are the only house around. The home is older but very comfortable. I cooked all of our meals. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We had a wonderful family vacation.
No complaints regarding the house. It is old but very unique. Furniture is dated and a bit used. It accommodated all 11 of us just fine with plenty of space. The only disappointing factor was you couldn't really use the boat in the channel for tube pulling, etc. because of all the growth in the water and it being a channel. Couldn't swim off the dock, water was overgrown with vegetation. The fishing was good off the dock however. There is the cutest light tan squirrel (we called him Honey) that frequents the area which was fun to watch and hummingbirds frequented the porch quite often. Very enjoyable stay.

Burn it down and rebuild!
670 honeycomb road, Grant, Alabama 35747 should be deemed uninhabitable.
Photos on listing must be 40 years old not even close to what you will find. Multiple issues, most notably, water damage likely resulting in mold that is damaging to renters health. Additionally, a leaking roof, exposed wiring within a light switch, power outlets not properly mounted, broken light bulb still socketed, beds are uncomfortable basement bedroom is musty and I’m sure mold is somewhere with all the water damage, the kitchen is at least 70 years old along with the bathrooms, the outside has nothing to offer other than a dock on the water everything is run down and I’m sure more I’m not recalling. I’m sure the neighbors would be happy if it burned down. Highly suggesting an investigation be run and injunction preventing further rental until improvements are made. If your planning on renting this place I would suggest finding slums close by you won’t have the lake but your accommodations will be better
