Lovely Property near Construction / Demolition site

Lovely property, very well appointed in great location, well perhaps it was not the the best location as demolition had started on a four story hotel midway through our stay. A hotel (partial hotel now) sits on a lot just over 100 feet from the front door of this property. We had to endure the noise from heavy equipment pounding the concrete building to demolish it from approximately 7:00 am am until 6:00 pm it was so bad that it would shake the building. Unfortunately after enduring the noise for over a week we decided cut our stay short. We notified VRBO who referred us to the host Southern Vacation Rentals but were told that as this was something that was out of their control they could not do anything to help or to compensate us. We would advise anyone thinking of renting this property to check with the host that the demolition/construction activity has been completed.

Nice place over all - few issues

There was a strong smell of paint so we had to open upper floors and windows to air out for a day. The master bedroom sheets had a large yellow stain on it. It's assumed that the cleaning crew changed the sheets since last visitor. I'm guessing maybe the painters had a dog or child in the house and had an accident on the bed. The Mgmt company told me someone would bring new sheets but they never did. We had to wash the sheets ourselves but the sheets still had stains. Other than being grossed out about the sheets, it was a nice place.
