About this property

Styling in the Soho of Santa Fe-Local Baca Street Art District

Enjoy the beautiful summer and winter weather in the comfort of Casa Alissa! Relax and enjoy this peaceful and bright two bedroom adobe Casita located in the SOHO of Santa Fe in the Baca Street Art District, centrally located with easy access to all of Santa Fe. Within walking distance of galleries, artist studios, cafe's, parks, and stores in the Baca Street Art District of South Railyard Park. This lovely Casita is in a quiet neighborhood and situated right across the street from the Acequia Rail Trail. Walk or bike a mere 10-15 minutes along the Acequia Rail Trail into the North Railyard Shopping area, Farmers Market, downtown Santa Fe, museums, art galleries, micro-breweries, or to a network of trails throughout Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. Right around the corner from this Casita is Larragoite Park with lots of green space, tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds and a dog walk area. Additionally, its close to a fitness center, indoor pool, shopping, entertainment, museums, and much, much, more due to its central location.

Enjoy local Baca Street activities such as glass-blowing lessons at Liquid Light Glass Studio with artist Elodie Holmes. Visit the pottery studio and galleries along Baca Street or grab a bite to eat at Counter Culture Cafe.

Optionally, you can choose to have a local chef come to the Casita and cook you a 'traditional New Mexican meal' while you enjoy margaritas and talk about your day. Local Santa Fe Chef Alma will delight you with home made tortillas, guacamole, enchiladas, and dessert or any meal of your choosing cooked right in the Casita while you relax. Please contact the owner if you are interested in a special dinner prior to booking. Times, dates, and costs are negotiated with the Chef.

Unwind over dinner on the private front porch or relax in the secluded back garden/patio area after a day of sight seeing in Santa Fe. Or just relax and curl up next to the kiva fireplace to enjoy a movie or read a book.

Recharge on the upgraded pillowtop mattresses while you enjoy the view into the private garden through the master bedroom patio entrance. Skylights in the kitchen and other rooms provide light and a feeling of openness throughout the Casita.

The place was clean, comfortable and the manager was friendly and very helpful. Our only negative was a lack of a few supplies..only a tiny bar of soap for the week and a few paper towels left on the roll. Fresh flower bouquet a nice touch!

Great Santa Fe Homebase

Our family of four (with 17 and 18 year old girls) stayed in this beautiful property while exploring the Santa Fe area. Comfy beds, AC units kept it cool at night. Loved the local cat (Iggy), who came to visit while we hung out on the porch. Good pots and pans. Bring your own spices. Very clean.

Comfortable home in quiet neighborhood, easy access

Casita is in a very convenient location, easy to reach multiple parts of the city. It was very clean and on-site assistance was readily available. Nice outdoor seating areas front and back. well equipped kitchen, attractive furniture. Beds/pillows could be updated, however, not so comfortable in either bedroom.

Quaint Hideaway

This small but well kept villa was the perfect place to locate ourselves to be able to go back and forth to Downtown Sante Fe and also take day trips to other attractions in the area. The owner was very helpful and prompt on my inquiries prior to arrival as well as while staying in the unit.

Cozy and Convenient

This property is excellent for a visit to Santa Fe. It was incredibly clean and delightfully decorated. There is a small, fully fenced yard for pets and a fenced front porch for privacy. We visited during December and found the casita to be delightfully warm and cozy. The location is near restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and the plaza. I look forward to staying here again in the future. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Perfect Location

My husband, our dog and myself stayed for 2 weeks at the lovely Casa Alissa and we enjoyed everything. You can walk or bike to the Plaza, grocery store, Railrunner station at the Santa Fe Depot, several wonderful restaurants and more. There is a beautiful park around the corner to walk the dog. The casa had everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. We will return! Marcy was helpful in every way.

Charming and cozy casita

We were warmly welcomed by the comforting kiva fireplace and soft slippers for our tired feet at Casa Alissa. The space seemed bigger than the pictures represented online and the beds were terrifically comfortable. We didn’t have success utilizing the Dish service with the TV the one time we were trying to watch a movie, but we also didn’t reach out for assistance as we were also content to play our games we brought. We would recommend this stay to people with young children or adults!

Nice except heating management

Nice place. Quiet, clean. Close to a walking trail that takes you to the Railyards. The one downside was managing the portable heaters in order to stay warm including pulling one into the bathroom when showering. The kitchen was nicely stocked other than no ice tray. Unfortunately the refrigerator froze some of our food. Nice sheets and good mattresses!

This property is pet-friendly - a must for us. It has a nice enclosed patio both front and back of the property. The property was clean and tidy when we arrived. It is ideally located for almost anything you could want to do in Santa Fe proper. It seemed that most places were about two miles distant. The kitchen was adequately equipped for the little preparation we do for meals (not much real cooking was done, we made smoothies and had breakfast cereal.) The host was responsive to all of our requests and needs.Parking is tight. We only had one vehicle and there were two spaces available for our casa so that made parking a little easier. It was very comfortable for our 6 night stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Delightful casita!

Extremely clean nice two bedrooms. Good off street parking. Excellent information notebook about casita and Santa Fe. Mid October and we had a little trouble with the heating. We didn't want to bother the hosts late at night but I am sure they would have helped us. Yes, we would stay here again.

Opera tailgating weekend

Four women friends and a dog. Lots of coming and going and juggling up to three vehicles in the parking area. Marcy made it easy because she communicates so well. We really had a great time! Fresh flowers when we arrived were a nice touch! The acequia trails are very handy for walking my dog in the morning. Thanks for everything!

I have lived in Santa Fe since 2004. While I have spent 20+ years in other areas of New Mexico, Santa Fe is by far my favorite place in New Mexico due to the rich influences of the local cultures, the artists, and its laid back style! There is always something to do in Santa Fe!

Why they chose this property

I bought this house due to its central location and ease of access to all of Santa Fe. Initially I bought it as a place for my children to live in while they worked in Santa Fe however with its easy access to downtown, museums, restaurants, and more we all fell in love with it. I especially like the Baca Street Art District with its easy going atmosphere, outdoor cafes, artist studios and galleries. If you want a taste of the real Santa Fe where the locals hang out, this is it. As Canyon Road and many areas of Santa Fe have gotten more and more expensive, many artists have chosen to move to the Baca Street Art District and set up galleries and studios. Recently Santa Fe developed the Railyard Park with trails, studios, galleries, shops, and green space in the Baca Street Art District, so more and more artists are relocating to this area.

What makes this property unique

While staying at my property, I enjoy strolling down to the galleries for art openings, to the cafes for breakfast, or to the Acequia trail for a walk. Once on the Acequia trail, its an easy 15-20 minute walk or bike into North Railyard Park to the Santa Fe Farmers Market where there is more shopping, more art galleries, and great restaurants. Top that all off with a little music and some brews from the local microbrewery and stroll or bike home!
Additionally, I always take my visiting family down the street to the Liquid Light Glass Studio for a glass-blowing lesson. Everyone always loves it, including the grandchildren!
