This property is managed by 3rd party that uses separate software called Hostaway. That software integrating with VRBO led to pymt failures that don't show on your credit card or anywhere in VRBO and almost led to my reservation being cancelled multiple times. I typically haven't had to communicate with properties until just prior to my arrival for check-in instructions but I lived in VRBO Messages to manage this stay for 1.5 months. I'm a frequent VRBO renter and typical payment terms are half paid at time of booking, last half paid the week of check-in and I've never had to pay an up-front damage deposit. This property reached out to collect 100% of the reservation amount plus a 250 damage deposit more than a month in advance of my two-night stay. Bc of the pymt failures I was sent a separate link by the property in email, I paid 100% of the reservation total, was told I was all paid up by the property but then started getting pestered two weeks later because the damage deposit charge had also failed with warnings the reservation I'd paid 100% of would be cancelled. The area around this unit is rough so there is one code to get in building, another code to get thru lobby door and a separate key to access your hallway room. If your phone battery dies, you better have written down the codes. Check-in was stressful bc there are 12 lockboxes in lobby and no one told us we had to go to stairwell in between floors where 3 other lockboxes were (1 of which was ours)
