Things don't always go as planned. Wendy stayed in communication throughout my stay and that alone meant a lot. I will stay here again. The places were clean and well stocked. The sunsets were amazing.
We were excited to be right on the beach and to enjoy a hot tub since the weather was cold. However, there was no hot tub as indicated in the listing and Wendy didn't reply to my messaged question about it. We understand this property was recently acquired and is still in need of some updates. Overall, it was comfortable and clean, nice outdoor seating space, lovely view, but the bathroom is too small for a 6' 4" tall man.

A hottub is not offered at the moment. Perhaps in the future, it will be available. The home is an original island home as is the bathroom features.
We hope to see you again and thank you.
Pros: perfect location, 1 car parking spot (parking is rough anywhere else on the island), close to free trolley, directly on the beach, wake up to the most beautiful view ever, easy back and forth from lounging on the beach to lounging in your “backyard” on the lounger in the shade, they had some beach toys, charcoal grill, beach towels etc.. Wendy had great communication through messenger and was responsive with my questions. Safe, clean.
Con’s: not the most well built place (floor slanted, no door to bedroom, door doesn’t shut well to bathroom). These are all ancillary things that would not inhibit me from booking again. I book for the view and beach experience, not the most up to date place.
Would book again, thanks Wendy!

Thank you for the review. Yes. the building is an original and that is part of the beauty of the property.
It would not be on the ground level if it were a new building. What better way to start your day than walking directly on the beach from this vacation home. Please come again.

Beach cottage
Great location. Pull out sofa not fit for sleeping. Wooden chair outside is a hazard; It is broken and has sharp edges. Bathroom door didnt latch/ stay closed. Towels were old. Ran out of toilet tissue. Big checklist to follow when leaving. Seems remedial, but dont be in the hospitality business; it’s just poor taste. I have lots of family/ friends/guests stay in my home while vacationing and I cant imagine asking them to do their laundry before leaving. Top location, but cottage needs some repairs& TLC.

Thank you for your review.
The pull out sofa is primarily for smaller children with the king bed for two adults. Seems like you should have booked a unit with more bedrooms for all adults.
We supply like all rentals the initial supply of products. After the initial supply runs out, the guests is responsible. You were left three rolls for two nights. That was ample.
Yes, the building is an original and has its own personality. It is described as such prior to your booking.
The check list for departure is simple. Takes about 10 minutes. Take out trash, load dish-washer and put dirty linens/sheets in a pile. This is also standard.
The day I stopped all you ladies were having a great time. It was nice meeting you.
Seems remedial, but you obviously are not in the hospitality business if you think there are not departure expectations for guests to complete.
This rental is perfect for a couple needing a place to stay directly on the beach. The beach is literally right outside of the back door. The covered back patio and rocking chairs provide a wonderful spot to watch the sunset or sit at night listening to the waves.
This isn't a luxury rental. It's a simple place with the bare necessities for people who need a place to sleep at night. If you're like me and spend most of your beach vacations on the beach or exploring the area attractions, then the rental itself just has to be functional. That is exactly what this rental provides.
You can walk across the street to Bridge street which has some great shops and restaurants. My wife and I loved the Daiquiri Deck. I'm celiac and they were super helpful with helping me find gluten-free food. There's a bakery with gluten-free donuts. If you want to order in, there's an amazing pizza place called Pizzano's with the best gluten-free pizza I've ever had.
I'd stay here again. The rental was in the perfect location and Ana Maria Island is beautiful with lot's to do and see.
