respond to this review. Be sure to mention this is an actual cabin that has been redone, so squeaky floors and walls without insulation are normal: Overall an amazing stay and trip. Heads up for others looking at the property the floors a very squeaky/noisy and walls are thin. Not a big deal if your group all goes to sleep at the same time or are hard sleepers. Just a quick note on the floors and walls — this is an actual cabin that has been thoughtfully redone, so some of the classic cabin character remains. Squeaky floors and walls without modern insulation are completely normal in a structure like this. We’re glad it wasn’t a big issue for your group, especially if everyone was on a similar sleep schedule! Guest called mulitple times about "roaches" and we had pest control out within minutes both times. We havent had any other guests mention any sort of issues. We wish someone would have told us about bunk beds in laundry, as we have maintenance staff that could have come to look. Trees cannot be cut as that is corps of engineer land. This cabin/house is on the rustic side compared to the rest of the house rentals. The space was very tight for our group of 16. We had 9 adults and 7 children. The bunk bed in the laundry room wasn’t very stable and bolts were loose. We did enjoy the basketball goal, front porch, and the serenity of being on the cup-de-sak with minimal traffic. We could see a bit of the lake, but the trees blocked most of the view. The bathrooms were all very small and the kitchen and dining area were also cramped. Although this house may have ample sleeping space, the gathering areas and kitchen/dining area better suited for a group of 10 people. Multiple guests spotted cockroaches in one of the downstairs bathrooms more than once. We enjoyed our stay regardless and took advantage of the amenities of the resort and shuttles to Silver Dollar City. We take these concerns seriously and have not had other guests report similar issues, but we will continue monitoring closely. We’re sorry to hear about the unstable bunk bed in the laundry room. We wish you had let us know while you were here so our maintenance team could have come out right away to tighten the bolts and make it secure. Thank you for bringing it to our attention now so we can address it. On the lake view, the trees cannot be trimmed or removed because the property borders Corps of Engineers land, which restricts any cutting. We understand this limited the view for your group. This cabin is intentionally more rustic than many of our other rentals, and the living, kitchen, and dining areas are better suited to smaller groups (closer to 10). We recognize that 16 people (9 adults and 7 children) made the common spaces feel tight, and we appreciate you noting that for future guests. Thank you again for your honest review.
