'The Blue Heron' cottage is nestled in beautiful Perdido Key, Florida. You're less than 2 miles to the beautiful Johnson Beach National Seashore, as well as, multiple hiking trails and historic landmarks. Kayaking, picnicking, and swimming are all available at the Johnson's Beach National Seashore. If you'd like to explore the greater Pensacola area just adventure North from the neighborhood! Some activities in the area include Snorkeling on the emerald-water reefs (only 500ft from the shore!), Fishing on the nearby Charter Boats, exploring the dog beaches, watching the Blue Angels air show, and walking and biking sandy beach trails! Or, join the locals as you explore Palafox Market, Blue Wahoo's Stadium, and downtown Palafox. If you want some rest and relaxation, the beach is just minutes away to spend your day basking in the sun. To recharge, the endless dining options will be the only challenge you face as you decide which one to experience! With these attractions in close proximity to your house, you're sure to enjoy a dynamic and enriching getaway that perfectly balances city excitement and coastal relaxation.

We’ve stayed here twice now and we plan on staying again! We had a small issue with the dryer and they were easy to communicate with and had the issue resolved quickly!

Each bedroom had its own bathroom which is great for a small group. Everything looked just like the listing. No problems with check in or check out. Very good location also

Wonderful house, plenty of room. Loved the back balcony and deck. Close to Johnson beach (our favorite). Only down side was the busy road and no green space for dogs. Would I stay again? Yes.

We loved the outdoor spaces in this property! It was a great location for us. Just a short drive to Johnson Beach and lots of dining options. Glad to be able to bring our dachsunds. Main road is busy, but we appreciated how convient it was to everywhere we wanted to go.

House was a great setup for two families. Kitchen had most everything we needed. Coffee pots didn't work but were replaced, wished coffee filters would have been provided too, just something you don't think about brining with you. King bed upstairs was loose from the headboard and made noise with every turn. And wish more dishwasher tabs had been supplied. Otherwise, great place! Comfortable, clean, good location, easy check-in.

It was just the wife & I (and puppy) so we had plenty of room, spa was wonderful & we would rent here again. Weather was a bit cold I thought for Florida as the downstairs got a bit chilly at night & in the morning. Plenty of dog parks, hiking trails, the Blue Angels Museum, restaurants close by, and on a somewhat selfish note, was glad we didn't have neighbors during our stay, beautiful place

This was a wonderful vacation spot, had everything we needed for a wonderful stay, very convenient to the beach, restaurants and shopping. House was well decorated and comfortable. Happy with this house 7 day stay Saturday to Saturday only 1 complaint the water in the swim spa was filthy had to wait until Monday for the pool guy show up to clean it up and add chemicals after that we enjoyed it!

The house was arranged adequately and comfortably for our family. Some minor updates would make the home more appealing. This house is close to a busy road, so there is traffic noise. The property is dog friendly, but there is the nearness to a busy road and minimal area for walking dogs to consider.

Decent stay but swim spa needs attention

If you’re going to advertise an amenity like a hot tub or swim spa, please make sure the cleaning crew who arrives on Tuesdays each week actually clean it so guests can enjoy it. We were very disappointed on Wed morning while staying for the week to see the spa pads with same standing puddle of dirty water and leaves still on top meaning they weren’t removed for cleaning that Tuesday at all. The bottom of the spa was full of dirt and sand with lots of leaves floating on top of the water. Other than that the house was decent and met our needs.

Our Stay at Blue Heron

Overall the property met our expectations. The convenience to beaches, shopping and restaurants was excellent. The home was clean enough, but a little trashy. One of the bedrooms upstairs had a large mirror stacked in the closet that took up lots of room. The bathroom door in that bedroom had a large chunk missing. There was supposed to be an awning over the swim spa, but it was missing. The swim spa did not work the entire time we were there. That was the major reason we booked this property, so it was disappointing that it never worked. The water in it was dirty due to no filtration. The outdoor curtains on the upstairs porch were filthy with mildew/mold. So we were disappointed with the state of the property. One of the front porch handrails was so loose that one of our guests nearly fell when we arrived. Finally, the two outdoor fans had misters that never worked. We brought all these things to management’s attention and the railing was secured. Fan misters were unable to be repaired. A contractor was sent regarding the swim/spa, but a part had to be ordered that never arrived during the week we were there. So overall our experience was not as great as we had expected.

Very disappointing

The house was nice but on a very busy loud road but the worst part was the false advertisement and lack of care when we asked about the issues. We specifically chose this place because it was one of a few that had a spa. Upon arrival to the house we had just driven 10 hours and were ready to decompress in the spa! We couldn’t get it to turn on. I reached out to the number we were told to text and they said they were going to contact the appropriate people for our question. Didn’t receive another response until the next morning when they told us it was not working and they were trying to get it fixed asap. I asked why we weren’t informed before our arival since the spa was advertised as something we would have within the fee we paid. Nothing was offered to us as compensation and nobody came to fix it the whole 4 days we were there. There were also several items they said they would have in the house that were no there. This is the third beach house I have booked and never had anything like this. The other 2 houses had everything they said they would and much better communication as well. Very very bad experience for us!
