Come Rest, Relax, Recharge, and stay a while.
We, along with most of our guests, find it so hard to head back to work & life after enjoying the bliss, warmth & peace of our quaint and cozy retreat.
Although close to the city, we’ve made this wonderful space a great getaway with large beds, blackout drapes, WI-FI, Alexa, Smart TVs & Smart lock access for ease and convenience.
Feel free to park in front of the garage, relax on the cozy patio, and pick up a great read or write.
Enjoy the proximity to downtown Detroit or a quick trip up the shoreline to waterfront activities or suburban attractions.
The Grosse Pointe neighborhoods have all you need in terms of great restaurants, beautiful tree-lined streets, grand architecture, and a fantastic vibe.

Wonderful home away from home!

We loved our stay @ The Writer’s Retreat. The host, Lisa was very welcoming on every level. We had come home to visit family for Thanksgiving & this home made our trip wonderful for my family & my brothers. Thank you Lisa! 1st class host.

When Dave and Lisa met in Detroit some time ago, it was immediately apparent that they found something extraordinary, so they wanted to embody that essence in their home and share it with those who travel to this incredible place.

They are writers, lovers of great literature, and habitual fans of a fantastic city.

Why they chose this property

We both love the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet we crave and feel restored by this hideaway just beyond the Detroit city limits.
We love the tree-lined streets, stunning architecture, lovely entertainment, and great restaurants that are a quick 3-5 minute car ride to the downtown strolls of all the Grosse Pointe neighborhoods.

What makes this property unique

Our home has incredible curb appeal reflective of the historic neighborhood, yet has many updates and modern amenities that keep you connected to whatever aspects of life you require to relax, rest, and get in some work if needed or desired during your stay.
