Tucked away in a private wooded setting is a gorgeous property where time stands still. Many of the original 1920's charm has been lovingly preserved in the updated cabin while embracing the beautiful west-facing views of the stunningly clear Lac Courte Oreilles. Relax & enjoy the breathtaking sunset after a day of swimming in the near zero-depth shoreline, (great for young swimmers), & casting lines off the dock (which offers some of the best fishing on the lake). Adirondack chairs and a picnic table accommodate many for deck dining as do the chairs & benches circling the large firepit right on the lakeshore. For those who would rather eat out, Angler's Haven & Trails End are two great restaurants conveniently located on the lake.
The charming town of Hayward is located a short 20 minute drive north of the property, and is an excellent place to visit if you're a fan of pubs and bars, supper clubs, and cute shops that line the main street. Hayward is home of the world famous Birkebeiner Nordic ski race, and home to the first log rolling championship in the country.
If you're looking to get more involved in the outdoors, you can find multiple single track mountain bike routes nearby and hikes in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Just an hour and a half north is the city of Duluth, the gateway to the North Shore filled with hiking and great lake adventures. And you're looking for a kayaking adventure, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is just an hour north!

Great place to rent. Clean, spacious, great access to the lake. Kitchen was well appointed, second cabin was great for kids to have their own space. Sunsets were spectacular. Hosts were kind and courteous and provided excellent communication. Highly recommend, we will be back.
Enjoyed our family vacation in this cottage on LCO. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of seating. The views were spectacular as well as the closeness to the lake. The separate cabins were nice to provide a little privacy. Would definitely return next summer!!!

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. LCO is a beautiful clear lake that is very special to us. Thank you for taking such good care of our cabin, you are always welcome back!
The owner was very kind and responsive.Beautiful setting. Comfortable cabin with great accommodations. The fishing was amazing. We got in some good swimming despite cool weather. Campfire set up was nice. We did have an enjoyable stay!! Thank you! A couple improvements might include:--An "L" section on end of dock with bench to make sitting possible.--Locating pontoon away from the dock guests use, to make dock more usable for fishing.
