Convenient location, good price for New York
Location is convenient, a few minutes walk to a subway stop and local grocery stores. The apartment is a little rundown, but it had all the necessities and was clean. Just a word of caution, if you are a light sleeper, the main bedroom is adjacent to the entry hallway (separated only by sliding doors) and faces the street, so you will hear the other residents coming in and going out and also noises from the outside. This didn't bother us, but I can see how it could be a problem for some.
Joyce’s apartment is quite a find. A comfortable and spacious apartment located in a quiet street in a beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood. Nearby trains will have you in Manhattan in twenty minutes. And Joyce is friendly and always helpful. Highly recommend.
I booked this house for my family to visit and enjoy my daughter’s first birthday. The host was very accommodating. After a long day of a travel, my family arrived to the house very late. Our host stayed in contact with me throughout the entire day to make sure my family was accommodated.
The house was gorgeous, and the neighborhood was quiet. There’s decent food choices near by, and a children’s museum! My family were all happy, and comfortable. Thanks for helping create a beautiful family memory!
The location was great, 10 minute walking to resteraunts and parks

Great apt. in (or near?) Crown Heights
This place is on a lovely quiet residential street. The apt. is in an English basement, do not make the mistake we did and knock on the “upstairs” door. We had a car and were able to park right across the street, and leave the car there all weekend. Agree with other comments that the decor is a little dated, but that really isn’t important to me. The plumbing worked, the bed was comfortable, and there were no loud neighbors. We didn’t take subway directly from this location ( walked to meet up with family then hopped on subway) so I can’t comment on how far away closest subway was. Joyce was very nice. All in all, i’d recommend staying here

Second stay: just as good as the first
Joyce is friendly and knowledgeable, steered me to nearby excellent grocery stores and the closest subway. The warm, roomy apartment and good bed were a welcome place to end busy days visiting family in Brooklyn. I'd definitely come here again.

Friendly, convenient, everything needed to make yourself at home
Joyce's friendly helpfulness let me quickly acclimate to a new neighborhood. As others have said, walking to shopping and the MTA was easy. The apartment is spacious and warm (the weather was below freezing and windy that week), the queen-size bed firmly comfortable with soft linens and blankets. The kitchen has basic necessities with a full-size gas stove and huge refrigerator. I hope to stay there again when I visit my Brooklyn family.

Nothing Fancy but Perfect For Me
This was the second time I stayed at this apartment. Last time in the hot summer when the unit was, to me, adequately cooled, and this time in colder weather where the heat in the apartment was perfect. Joyce is a gracious host and accommodated me with an early check in. I like this apartment due to its spaciousness by NYC standards and its reasonable walking distance to stores and 2 major subway lines. And also a feeling of safety even walking home alone late at night. I visit NYC regularly to visit my daughter and I believe this apartment will be my go to place. Great for the price. Will be seeing you again Joyce I am sure.

Hostess with the mostest!
I really enjoyed spending my weekend at Ms. Joyce's house. She was a gracious and helpful host. We met at the door and she escorted me to the ground level apartment. The 1 bedroom space is fully furnished and was comfortable for my party of 2.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay!
This large apartment is in a lovely brownstone on a quiet beautiful street which is adjacent to a park (children's playground, basketball courts, space for dog lover!), and within walking distance to all of Crown Heights amenities--like Kosher food in one direction, and West Indian food in another! Joyce, the owner, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. My sister and I stayed here for about a week, and were as comfortable and happy as can be. We visited our family living on Eastern Parkway (within walking distance). The subway and buses are all close by as well. A real gem of a place in Crown Heights.
