Good news, the proximity to downtown San Diego is great! This is why the only reason the home location didn't get a one star rating.
Rental facts-The property is surrounded by vacant lots, a iron security fence, and the complex is almost vacant. Approximately 2 or 3 of the 8 apartments have occupants. I don't mean to disparage the neighborhood, everyone I talked to in the area was really nice. However, this is not a vacation rental. The bathroom has black mold on the ceiling and in the window tracks, dust and hair were noted on the base boards in the bathroom, and kitchen, the refrigerator was rusty with peeling paint on the top of the unit. This place should be a long term property for middle/lower income residents in my opinion. The rent as a vacation location is very disappointing to people expecting a home away from home experience. Notice, no exterior photos are presented in the add.
The owner provides no check-in data until after the refund period has expired, so you are reliant on photos provided. The value quotient just isn't there for this property.
