We showed up, but the rental was double booked!

Major disaster: the rental was confirmed with VRBO and the owner, but when we showed up we couldn’t get in. After several hours we found out it had been double-booked and we weren’t informed. We wasted a day of our vacation finding someplace else to stay with two young kids in tow. VRBO refunded the rental fee, but nothing for the extra costs, wasted time, and stress. Be warned: triple-check your booking!!
