Relax to the sound of the surf at your doorstep in this private, open concept couples retreat.

Two Dunes is luxuriously secluded, situated as the only house on a mile of powder-soft pink sand beach. With floor to ceiling windows filling the walls and multiple walk-outs, you are immersed in a stunning ocean view from both inside and out. A huge deck surrounds the house, equipped with sun beds, picnic table and loungers front and back for true outdoor living. Step off the deck, onto the sand and right into the clear turquoise water. No need to pack a beach bag! The covered terrace provides shade and lovely views from its position elevated above the beach. The private outdoor shower provides a refreshing cleanse while gazing at the surf.

The second house is private space and is never occupied when Two Dunes is rented.

Explore the reefs just offshore in the clear-bottomed kayak and bring your snorkels. The swimming is excellent with a nice sandy bottom just beside the house as well as a sandy bottomed 'reef pool' at low tide.

The house has a comfortable king bed with luxury linens, HDTV DVD and Media Library with 700 movies and 100 TV shows, iPod docking station, full bath, kitchen equipped with high-powered blender for cocktails, Internet access, A/C and ceiling fans. Huge windows on three walls provide tons of light and spectacular ocean views. Three large doors walk out onto the terrace and deck.

Just a few minutes away is the town of Palmetto Point, which provides restaurants and stores. Also close by are many other beaches, the town of Governor's Harbour, Sky Beach Club, the airport (only 17 miles away), Island Farm and other attractions.

Directly behind the house is a picturesque inland lake with a variety of fish, plentiful bird watching opportunities and spectacular sunsets.

Great Getaway

Great location, very private.Villa had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable and internet was great. Beautiful beaches and a great coral pool to swim in. Loved the place!

Great place to stay

Steps to the beach. Stayed for 4 nights. Walked both directions on the beach multiple times and never saw a single person. The house was clean and had everything we needed for cooking all of our meals.

Location, Location, Location!This is a wonderful place. In our 8 day stay, only two people walked by the house. Don't overpack. The house had everything that we needed. We discovered that if you leave the house to the left (South and East) you will encounter a paved road in about 5 minutes that takes you to Queens Highway and it takes less time to get to GH than if you go out to the right (North and West) and passed Qnique's. Also, there is a great little grocery store, Midway Cost Cutter... to the left out this paved road.Again, just a wonderful stay. The photos are accurate. There is a "private" ocean pool right in front of the house. At low tide and later it is wonderful. We drove to Tarpum Bay and got fresh Lobster and grouper. Put the church St Columbus in you GPS and then drive about 25 yards passed it and Sandra and Alexander will sell you fish for a good price. We bought four lobster tails and about a 3 pound grouper (cleaned) for 45. Alexander just brought them in on his boat.But the last house you pass on the way in to Two Dunes is now blue, not pink. This is coming in as the directions tell you. Try this place, you will love it. Bring books to read and think of a romantic vacation.Dan and Sue

Two dunes

The house is right on a beautiful beach. It was not difficult to find. It is secluded so bring everything you need for the first day or two. There are grocery stores not too far but once you get there you won’t want to leave. Natasha brought us in dinner the first night and it was delicious.

Amazing retreat for two!!

This place is truly amazing! The house was perfect for the two of us on our 25th anniversary trip. The views are simply magical! There are so many fish to see while snorkeling 20 feet off this beach in front of the house. There were also two huge lobsters that we saw right in front of the house. And to say you are secluded is an understatement. The island of Eleuthera was so beautiful that pictures or words don’t do it justice. We visited 10 beaches in our week stay and they were all unique and amazing. The driving on the left side of the road was quite the experience too lol. We cant wait to return for another adventure at Two Dunes!

Can't beat the view

This cozy little house was awesome! The view...you can't even put into words. AMAZING! We enjoyed nice long walks on the beach. Property was very secluded though we did see several people walking along the beach. I would highly recommend this property for a couple looking to reconnect and spend quality time together. Natasha was extremely helpful and responded quickly to all our inquiries. Rachel, thanks for sharing this lovely home with us!

Property was as described. Gorgeous gorgeous views, beautiful soft pink sand, blue ocean waters, I loved falling asleep to sound of waves crashing on rocks. Convenient to grocery stores in Tarpum Bay and Governors Harbour as well as many beaches. Bed was fabulously comfortable, kitchen well supplied for cooking in. Only recommendation would be a few new knives or a knife sharpener. Natasha was a pleasure to work with and so helpful to us. No issues with our stay, would love to stay again in future if Rachel would have us.

Two dunes stay

No jetted tub as advertised, curtains very dirty, one long power outage and two short ones (which means no water usage and had to use a bucket of water from the ocean to flush toilet). Generator never started the entire stay even though a repairman came out to fill an empty propane tank. Reported to Natasha several times and responses were slow or not at all. Enjoyed the seclusion and views and Rachel was pleasant to deal with. Felt like the property was overpriced.

Most amazing location PERIOD!

As others have said, you cannot beat this location. It is unbelievable. The property itself is a bit worn and tired (I can't imagine how hard it is to keep up on upkeep right on the ocean like this) but the location makes up for anything else. It's out of this world. Amazing. Can't wait to come back. We have stayed in 5 vacation rentals on Eluethera now, and this is the new favorite, purely for the location. We had crazy wind for the first few days (wearing long pants and sweatshirts, and couldn't go outside for days), but then it warmed up and was amazing. Privacy was great, but a little less then we expected from some other reviews. For sure there were days we saw no one at all, but other days 6-7 groups of people came by in a few hours. Still, 5 star, amazing, all about the location.

What a fantastic piece of paradise!

We have to say our second stay at Two Dunes was even better than the first. Starting our vacation with a fantastic lobster dinner prepared and delivered by the wonderful Natasha was the perfect, stress-free way to begin. It gave us time to figure out what was in the house already and what we needed to buy at the big Rock Sound grocery store on our second day. As others have mentioned, the house has just about anything you could possibly need, both in the kitchen and for outside activities. There is lots of space to store toiletries in the bathroom, and plenty of counter and cupboard space in the kitchen. There are also plenty of places to hang towels, etc., which we don’t often see in vacation rentals. And this fair-skinned redhead is especially happy to have the beach umbrella, and the availability of shade at any time of day at the house. The new storm shutters create just enough shade for protection when you’re sitting up on the deck. The only thing we missed this time was an outdoor clothesline. We had a lot of fun feeding the lizards scrambled eggs, which they really seem to love. One is much less shy than the other and even crawled up into my lap one day out on the deck! He spent a short time on my shoulder before continuing on his way. We thoroughly enjoyed having evening cocktails on “our” boat, enjoying the sunset over the salt pond and watching the activities of the various birds that spend their time there. Or facing the Atlantic and enjoying the way the setting sun reflects on the crests of the waves. The light is very special at that time of day. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves is one of the most soothing things on the planet and we miss that now that we’re home in chilly New England, where we’re still waiting for the arrival of spring. And waking up each morning to see the many greens and blues of the ocean is such a treat. Beach walking is fantastic, with lots of treasures to be found in both directions. We very much look forward to returning to Two Dunes. It’s one very special place that will always hold a place in our hearts.

Better and better

We love returning to Two Dunes - each trip has been better than before. The newness never wears off - instead it becomes enhanced by our familiarity of the environment. We keep thinking we'll venture out elsewhere on the island, and other than groceries or picking up takeaway, we cannot leave this place.

Pros & Cons

We stayed at Two Dunes for a week and had a nice time. Like any place, there were pros and cons. Pros: Absolutely gorgeous view from the house! Literally two walls of windows, and it was so peaceful to sit and watch the water, birds, etc. The unit was perfectly sized and appointed for two people. We loved the central location on the island, which made it easy to explore north or south. And the position of the house with the ocean on one side and the lake on the other was great. I’m a bird watcher and the variety of birds on the lake was incredible!Cons: The mattress, while newer, is REALLY firm. A mattress pad would go a long way toward alleviating soreness. The water situation… We’ve visited other Bahamas out islands before and are familiar with use of cistern water, but I will admit that the coloration of this water was a little off putting (ever so slightly yellow/brown, like very weak tea). Other places we’ve stayed with cistern water, the cisterns are usually buried so the water isn’t exposed to light. Insects… There was an abundance of super teeny tiny bugs (looked like ants, but smaller) crawling around the kitchen sink and bathroom. I totally understand that this is the tropics, and these insects were so tiny, it would be virtually impossible to keep them out. But maybe spraying more regularly would help? They were present when we arrived, and we were meticulous with cleaning, food storage, kept food waste in freezer, etc. Just something to be aware of.

Perfect Getaway!

Upon your arrival at Two Dunes you will be transported to your own private paradise! The unassuming but impeccably kept cottage sits directly on a quiet beach with spectacular views. Communication with the owner and concierge was excellent and prepared us for our "Perfect Getaway". Our only regret was not having Natasha cook us a meal, but next time we will!

Beautiful home on secluded beach

The home was extremely comfortable living on the beachfront for the week. I think the beach was perhaps the best on the island. Gorgeous sunsets from the back deck with a bottle of wine and sunrises on the front with a cup of coffee. The beach is extremely private and secluded as we saw maybe a half dozen people all week. The place comes with two ocean kayaks which were fun to use in exploring the local reefs. Also an outdoor BBQ for grilling that freshly caught fish. Kitchen is well equipped should you choose to stay in and cook your own meals. Definitely will come back again.

Our Third Time

This place is magical, and just keeps getting better. Updates to the interior and appliances were pleasant. Make use of Island Farms nearby - you'll want to stay here as much as possible and enjoy the privacy of your own coral pool.

Better Each Time

We thought the property was perfect last year. Well, we were wrong. Spruced up deck with some new boards, and a fresh coat of paint all around. The back porch with covering is completely redone, looked like a lot of work...everything so well done, 2 thumbs way up. We are looking forward to next year. P.S.: Thank you Natasha for helping with the rental car, best one we've had so far.

Exactly what we needed - perfection!

We had a wonderful two-week stay at Two Dunes. Everything was great and we can't imagine a better place to have stayed. Depending on your length of stay you may want to arrange a 5 gal bottle of water to be at the cottage. It was about $6. There's no real point in shopping around for rental cars - they all seem to be about the same price and Natasha was really convenient. We rented the car for 9 out of the 14 days that we were there. We had some thunderstorms and there were several days that the seas were very rough (but beautiful). We lost power on almost a daily basis (usually for less than an hour) and one time for over 16 hours. The cottage was definitely the highlight and we were quite content to sit on the deck or the couch (depending on no-seeums) and watch the water for hours. We went to Harbour Island, Spanish Wells, and Lighthouse Point. We used dune buggies for Lighthouse Point - some people that we had met said that it was one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it did not disappoint. We've left the contact information in the Guest Book for that trip. We enjoyed Spanish Wells more than Harbour Island. The bakery in Governor's Harbour makes the best bread. Cookies at the Bakery in Tarpum Bay. Barn House Bar and Grill at Wemyss Bight for a full plate of conch fritters for only $5 and an incredible beach. Thanks Rachel and Natasha for a perfect stay - we're already making plans to come back.
