About this property

Cozy retreat near hiking, skiing and wine tasting

As featured in Architectural Digest -- The "Snug Shack" is centrally located in Arnold, and offers access to the best the Sierra has to offer, including wine tasting, shopping, skiing, and hiking in Big Trees State Park.

The cabin boasts fast WiFi for WFH; a sizable living room; kitchen with cozy breakfast nook; two sleeping quarters, including a master bedroom with king bed, and a loft with twin bed & trundle; and deck with picnic table and BBQ.
The space
Tucked away in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Arnold, California is the perfect getaway.

Our cabin is a wonderful place for couples, small families, or groups of friends to rest and unwind. Built in 1956, the cabin maintains its original charm while seamlessly incorporating many modern conveniences. The decor artfully enhances the cabin's architecture, and includes a mix of items purchased from local artisans.

When you enter the cabin, you will find a large living room with the original stone fireplace (now with convenient gas insert and remote), a plush sectional couch, comfy leather chair, and smart TV connected to speedy WiFi. Adjacent to this area is the custom breakfast nook, with chair and bench seating topped with soft pillows.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to prepare a delicious meal. It has a retro feel, with turquoise metal cabinets and a tiled counter top. The top cabinets are covered with stickers from prior guests; feel free to add your own if you stay with us!

Across from the kitchen, there is a full bathroom with standing shower. No need to haul your entire medicine cabinet with you; we've stocked ours with shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, shaving cream and most of what you might need during your stay with us.

Upstairs are your sleeping quarters. The master bedroom has a luxurious new king-size bed perfect for sleeping in. Just outside the door is a smaller sleeping area with twin bed and trundle. All beds are prepared with clean and comfortable linens. The second sleeping area also includes the office space, with desk, chair, and views of the surrounding pine trees.

Outside the house is the deck equipped with a gas grill, ample seating and a cozy gazebo. It is the perfect space for sipping your morning coffee, stargazing at night and everything in between.

Quiet cabin
Cute little cabin was quiet (all we heard was the croaking of frogs), cozy, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, along a golf course and pond/lake. The bathroom is on the main level and the stairs up to the bedroom are shallow/steep. We were careful and took them slowly with a light on at night, so they were not an issue for us.

It was a perfect little spot for my family and I to enjoy for the last part of our winter break. We enjoyed the decor and space and will be returning here soon.
