Welcome to Chancton House, a historic country estate nestled on 7 private acres in the heart of Bedford / Pound Ridge, NY, bordered by the Mianus River Preserve and accessed via a long, private drive. Whether you’re planning a summer escape, a winter retreat, or a quiet work-from-home getaway, this four-bedroom, 4.5-bath estate offers the space, comfort, and character for an unforgettable stay.
Inside, you'll enjoy:
A large living room with Sonos surround sound, wood-burning fireplace, and French doors to a terrace overlooking the garden
A fully equipped kitchen with updated appliances
A bright dining room and multiple seating areas perfect for hosting or relaxing
A versatile study and TV room with Apple TV
A spacious basement room opening onto the garden, perfect for workouts using free weights or the peloton, remote work, or downtime
Upstairs sleeping arrangements include:
Primary Suite with ensuite bath, soaking tub, walk-in closets, and views over the grounds
Bedroom 2 with ensuite bath and built-in desk
Bedroom 3 with walk-in closet and shared bath
Bedroom 4 (The Hockney Room) connected to the master with two twin beds is great for families with young kids. Shared bathroom with bedroom 3 (if both are in use)
Outdoors, you’ll find:
A seasonal pool (open spring–early fall)
Expansive gardens with grill and dining table
Private access to hiking trails
Mature landscaping filled with beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs.
Guest access
The entire home and grounds with the exception of the 3 bay garage and apartment above it. The pool is private. The house in on seven acres, everything is private and secluded.
Other things to note
There is a property manager on-site who lives over the garage. She is there if you need her but she does not use the grounds or pool, those are exclusively yours.
As a country home we have gardeners who come to mow the lawn, blow the leaves and weed. We do our utmost to schedule these services to come when guests are not at the house, but it is not always possible. Interruption will be kept to a minimum.
For stays a month or longer we will bill you for the utilities which includes: gas, electricity, verizon, cleaning, lawn cutting, grounds maintenance and pool maintenance. During winter this is approximately $800-1000, during summer it's $1800-2000.
