Garden of Eden in a Bustling City

I was looking for a place for me and my 70 dog, Monkee, that was centrally located for some sightseeing in Monterey and Salinas, and I found it! Nestled between pine trees, Longhorn Steer (yes, you read that right), and lush greenery is a beautiful oasis. The place was clean, well-stocked and the large bed was comfy. Irene and Gary are wonderful hosts! I plan on sharing this secret hideaway with some friends of mine that are planning trips up the California coast. I will definitely stay here again!

Perfect sanctuary in Aromas!

We were looking for somewhere quiet to relax at the end of the day. This fit us perfectly. My husband and I both became ill and remained so almost the entirety of our stay. Irene, the owner was so accommodating- providing fresh lemons, mint, honey, mineral water. I do believe she would have done anything for us! The accommodation had everything we needed and it was just a lovely little place to rest and relax. The courtyard was my favorite and I spent many hours reading and enjoying the birdsong and the surrounding woods. I highly recommend!

Comfortable, clean stay in Aromas

Overall, this was a great space. Check in was fast and easy. The neighborhood was safe, clean and pretty, but it’s far from anything of interest (for us Monterey and Carmel). Locations aside, it was a great little suite, separate from the house it is built into. You will hear noise from upstairs from the family that lives there, as it is built into the bottom floor of their house (completely separated though). That said, it didn’t bother or keep us up after reasonable sleeping hours. Gary and Irene were great hosts, we had no in person interactions, but they were responsive and helpful over messaging. They fixed a maintenance issue we had quickly. They made sure the space was well supplied and clean upon arrival. Location aside, this is a fantastic space and well worth the nightly rate. Thank you Gary and Irene!

Thank you very much for your review. Our chateau, located on a hill on a unique private lot of over 4 acres, is a great location for people who would like to visit the Monterey Aquarium, Carmel restaurants and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk all at the same time, while also driving approximately 40 minutes to Silicon Valley. Monterey, Carmel and Santa Cruz require about 30-35 minutes of easy and smooth driving, but the prices we charge for our units compared to the prices and our absolutely secluded location in Monterey and Carmel is a vote for our place. Yes, we have a completely separate unit upstairs with a separate entrance and sometimes it is occupied. But having our other two units with their own backyards makes up for some of the regular sounds of us, two adults, staying in the upper unit sometimes.
