About this property

PET FRIENDLY King Suite at Base of the Mountain!

The Grand Lodge Hotel is located on Crested Butte Mountain in the heart of the base area. Walking distance to the slopes, shops, and main transit center. Amenities for the complex include an indoor/outdoor heated pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center, and in-house restaurant. Crested Butte Lodging & Property Management, Inc. provides free parking and wifi.

This hotel suite layout creates two spaces with the king bed upon entering the suite and a living room/kitchenette area with a sleeper sofa for additional arrangements. The kitchenette features a small refrigerator, single burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, and your basic utensils for cooking and eating.

First-floor rooms at the Grand Lodge are pet friendly for a fee of $30/per night per pet.

The FREE Mountain Express Shuttle runs year-round for transportation to and from the Town of Crested Butte and surrounding areas. Summer schedule runs every 20 minutes; winter schedule runs every 15 minutes; shoulder seasons every 40 minutes.

Crested Butte Lodging & Property Management provides the basic comforts of home. Upon your arrival, you’ll find that we supply all linens, towels, and paper goods. This includes paper towels, toilet paper, starter shower kits, coffee packets with powder creamer and sugar, kitchen towels, dish sponges, dish soap, and dish detergent. If you would like to arrange housekeeping services during your stay, please contact our office to schedule for a modest fee.

Loud but what're you gunna do, ski Vail?

This was a perfect getaway for a couple with two small pets. The room was convenient for skiing and allowed us to vacation with the whole family. The layout was a little weird, with the bed right by the door, which received a large amount of foot traffic. Even on off-days, the noises of doors, dogs, children, etc. constantly pervade the room, well into the night. Sleepless, but otherwise happy with the stay.

Great room!

Room was much larger than expected, very good use of space. We liked how the living space was separated from the bedroom by the wide hallway. Great for a family with kids, doesn't feel cramped. Very very clean and well kept, no wear and tear and nice decor and furniture. King size bed was heavenly. Room is perfect for dog owners, it's on the first floor and close to the side entrance which leads to the parking lot and walking path , making it convenient for early morning and late night potty walks. The ding of the elevator doors opening down the hallway was annoying late and night and early AM, only negative I can think of! We would definitely choose this room again!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was in a hall right next to the main entrance from the parking lot. People came in talking loudly and slamming the door. The front desk was no help. Then there was a dog barking and barking. Several of us opened our doors and asked that they do something about the dog so that we could get some sleep.

This place is a good size but is dark not well cared for. The furniture is very worn; cracked picture frame, lamps that turn on and off by plugging and unplugging, chairs that required a towel before sitting on. It would have been nice to have a mat for wet shoes The heat was very inconsistent. We called, and a maintenance person was over in about 2 hours. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Reviewer Comments: Clean, comfy, kitchen worked well enough except for the freezer which didn’t freeze, but vegetables froze in other parts of the mini fridge. Bed was comfy, shower was great. Privacy curtain was torn, so I had to use a paper clip to keep curtains closed. The very worst part of the room is its proximity to the lobby. People came in late, and were very loud. I guess they thought no one was within earshot. So I didn’t get to sleep any night before midnight. When I checked in, the person behind the desk was quite confused, couldn’t find my reservation because I wasn’t actually a hotel guest. I had to show him my reservation confirmation email.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We made reservations back in March. When we arrived the property couldn’t find our reservation. Bad start. Took about an hour to get that squared away. We were on the first floor and had reservations for bringing the dogs so we were ready for anything. The condo was clean and had all accommodations we needed but the bed was situated right by the door to the main hallway. Not a great setup. The main hallway was so loud all night long. We got no sleep at all. The second night we finally fell asleep about 1am after folks stopped coming and going and talking in the hallway and then got woken up at 4am to a fight in the hallway right outside our door. Couldn’t believe it. The building itself is quite filthy and needs a large update and good cleaning. The parking lot is disgusting and needs trash pickup and updates out there as well. We had a view of the parking lot so that was not a nice thing to see for two days. Overall we will never stay there again.
