We had an absolutely amazing time! Our Spring Break plans got derailed by the Kona Winds in Hawaii and we made a last minute pivot to Costa Rica. It was a great decision!Susanne, the owner, and all of the staff, Diego, Nani and Diana, were so helpful. The town is charming with great food and views and the travel day was really easy from DFW. 10/10 would recommend! It was awesome!

40th Birthday

We stayed here with 7 people for a 40th birthday party. The house was amazing and even better than the photos suggest. The assistance from Paola and Diego was fantastic and Margil was an amazing cook. Would 1000% recommend and will revisit.

Best senior spring break trip ever!

6 moms...6 girls...senior spring break was made exceptional by the accommodations of Villa Sympatheia! The property is not only lovely with amazing views and sunsets, there is plenty of space for everyone to find a corner to read a book or work a puzzle, bask in the sun by the pool, enjoy coffee alone on a porch or almost anything else you like! The staff is amazing to boot! Will definitely return to Las Catalinas! Thank you!

Wow, just wow!

This house is the coolest place I’ve ever stayed. Bedrooms/bathrooms layout, perfect. Privacy, perfect. Pool, perfect. Sunset, God showed out each night! Concierge, perfect. Staff, beyond perfect as Naomi was special. Hard to complain about anything at all, except having to leave. Thanks for having us.

Amazing!

We celebrated a 40th birthday at Villa Sympathia with our closest friends (11 in total) and it was a wonderful experience! Most of us had not been to Costa Rica before and now we cannot wait to return! The house is the most beautiful property we have ever visited. We couldn’t believe the level of detail throughout. Each couple was not only able to have their own room but also their own living space if they wanted. It is truly the perfect group house! The house does have lots of stairs so I would agree with the listing description it is not the best choice if anyone in your group has mobility issues. However the stairs lend themselves to experiencing the most incredible views! We are actively looking for reasons to return to this property and the town of Las Catalinas. The ride from Liberia airport is about an hour-definitely have water and a snack on hand if traveling in a big van. We hired airport transportation and were very glad we did instead of renting a car. Also, we would highly recommend the Rio Perdido excursion, Guanacaste Ched4U in-house chefs, Manta Ray sailing, Sentido Norte and La Forketta! Tip: La Forketta (pizza, pasta) will deliver to Las Catalinas after 5PM. It was cash only when we were there!

Beautiful house, awesome people, amazing food! The concierge took care of everything for our group and checked in with us daily. The house was incredible and perfect for our group - everything was walkable. Already planning our next trip!
