Enjoy your stay in Duluth’s charming Central Hillside neighborhood—perfectly located just minutes from everything! This area offers a great mix of historic character, scenic views, and a relaxed local vibe.

New extended stay hotel in East Duluth, a close walking distance to restaurants, shops, both hospitals and parks. This fully furnished studio suite features a full kitchen, large bathroom, queen bed, all furnishings, free laundry and free WIFI. Fully updated with fire alarm system, carbon monoxide detectors, full fire sprinkler system, security camera system, and electronic keypad entrances. This unit features blue cabinetry, lots of windows, closet space, and partial lake views from the windows.
This suite is located in a commercial building that has recently renovated from top to bottom. We added 6 apartments to the building along with a commercial office space up front. There are 4 other units on the main level, laundry room, and my real estate office. Everything is nicely separated with a common hallway. You enter through a common main entrance, and the suite is located on the main level in the rear of the building. Controlled electronic entry to both common areas and to your individual unit. Nicely updated while keeping some original brick accents and old charm. Tall ceilings and a nice large bathroom. Air exchange in unit as well as ceiling fan and thermostat control.

The room was as advertised. Its actually roomy and cozy. The bed was comfortable and i wish i would have looked at the brand of pillows because they were perfect.

Why they chose this property

Great Water Hotel is located in-between Essentia Health's new hospital and 1/2 block from St. Luke's Hospital and 1 block up from Sir Ben's. The immediate neighborhood is comprised mainly of apartment buildings and local residents, but down a block you will find yourself on Superior St. surrounded by local tourist destinations. You are close to Fitger's Shopping Complex, the Lake Walk, Rose Garden as well as many other shops, restaurants and bars. I love the location of this building, it is close and convenient to so much.

What makes this property unique

Guests love staying here and because it's close to so much, but there's more. This unassuming building will surprise you as soon as you enter. The building was built in 1891 for commercial purposes, for many years it served as a baking goods supply warehouse, off loading goods from the local shores of Lake Superior. I purchased it in 2017 and completely renovated the interior, I mean completely. Everything on the inside of the building is new, except the floor joists and brick walls. So from the outside your looking at a 140 year old building and inside you will find modern finishes and furnishings. We were able to save exposed brick in spots, all the wood trim is reclaimed Douglas Fir, and we also ended up with really tall ceilings in the main floor units. You will find the apartment modern with an old school charm, and you will find yourself close to a lot of great Duluth spots! Cheers!
