This 4 bedroom, 2 bath one level home is located in the Wildlife Refuge on a private cove! The lake is your front yard! There are beautiful views from almost every room in the house. This house is located just off highway 72; 8 miles to Scottsboro and 5.6 miles to Goose Pond Colony.
The house has bedrooms 1 & 2 on one end of the house (bedroom has attached bathroom), and bedroom 3 & 4 are on the other end. The kitchen, dining and den area are all open ( and kind of have a 70s feel with a raised kitchen). *please note - bedroom 2 is semi private ).

The property is secluded with a beautiful view. Fishing wasn't that great from the small dock. However, upon arrival the outside trash can was already overflowing so we didn't have anywhere to put our garbage. You have to keep shoes on inside because of carpet tacks or something sharp randomly popping thru the carpet. Most of the bedroom doors wouldn't close. The bathroom door knob wouldn't stay on. We actually left a day early after discovering a rat had chewed thru a cushion on a sofa my son had slept on & underneath the cushions was covered in rat feces.

This review is unacceptable. We have a very open form of communication and never heard one word from these guest about any of these concerns. I was in the house the day of their arrival. There is a whole in a couch from a previous renter bringing a dog. These guest left the house with breaking a door knob off, leaving eight bags of trash inside the house on the floor leaking, spots on the outdoor couch and carpet. They had a party which is not allowed. I would never allow these people or their group on any of my properties again.
No time to list all the cool features. The photos say it all, but understate the scale & quality of the overall experience. Bring firewood & topwater gear & get your glamp on. This place is comfy, well-appointed, and the best kind of unique.
The space was clean and comfortable. I had reservations about a previous review which stated property smelled musty. We did not notice any odors. Kitchen is small but functional. We prepared a number of Thanksgiving dishes to take to a family gathering.
Property was very accommodating. Clean with plenty of room. Very close to mink creek and Goose Pond. Parking a little limited if you have multiple boats. But over all good place to stay with beautiful view of small cove.

Half and half
The house was old and smelled musky
It really needs a update. However the rooms were nice qand big. The beds were comfortable. Further away from Guntersville than w,pexred. Quiet and secludedfrom Guntersville than expected
The house was very clean and well maintained. We absolutely loved the screened porch that stretches almost the full length of the house. The waterfront is a marshy area so the access to the water is limited to a small area but the owner provided canoe and kayak allows guests to get out into the cove. The bedrooms are large and the beds were very comfortable. Guests with mobility issues should be aware that there is a step-up into each of the two bathrooms. It was a quiet area with no close neighbor. We would stay again.
Serenity Cove is a quiet, comfortable home with all the amenities one would expect. While it isn't the most modern property, it is well appointed and everything works well. We brought a crock pot from home, but to our surprise, there was already one in the kitchen. There were ample dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils to make our stay easy and homey.
The bedrooms rooms are huge! Situated at either end of the house, you have a King and a Queen room, so the house sleeps at least eight adults. Do be aware, both bathrooms are on one end of the house, but it isn't huge, so it didn't present a problem. As someone mentioned in a previous review, there is a step up (about 3-4 inches) into both bathrooms and into the kitchen, so it may not be the most friendly for someone who has mobility challenges.
We enjoyed using the gas grill, and brought wood for the fire pit, but didn't use it. A couple of tips, bring a blanket or two if you come in cooler weather, not because the heat doesn't work, but because the beds have thin bedspreads. I like the weight of a heavier quilt or comforter, so I am glad we thought to bring some. There is a basket of throw blankets in the living room, which was nice! Due to the cooler weather we didn't spend much time on the screened in porch, but it was nice and very spacious. Overall, Serenity Cove provided a great space for a chill family holiday gathering.

The the scenery at this place was beautiful, but as soon as you open the door, the smell would knock you down. It’s not something that can be cleaned up it. It’s in the carpet. It’s in the furniture. It’s terrible. The dog was on top of land. it wasn’t over water. You can’t fish from the dock. The grass is too high. The house needs to be updated and cleaned up. It’s not habitable for women and children maybe fisherman who don’t mind the smell but I wouldn’t recommend. The host Tony was gracious and tried to come out and help us with the smell. He did a little cleaning left some air freshener, but it didn’t touch it. I will say he did give us a partial refund on our rental, but it’s still did not negate the fact that our stay was ruined due to the smell and cleanliness of the house.

I will say that this is a very disappointing review. Upon Deanna's entry she called to complain-we immediately responded. Unfortunately upon entry they had sprayed so much fragrance in the air, any notable odor was gone. Upon their departure, we also entered the house to again find no notable odor. We've had guest stay after Deanna's departure (including women and children), with no complaints. The house was painted two years ago, carpets are cleaned every three months(i sniffed carpet in every room upon departure). The pictures on the website and the DESCRIPTION are 100 percent accurate. We can't control weeds; the pier is a float-able dock (just like in the picture). The furniture is from my home -3 years old; all beds and mattresses are two years old (also bought brand new). It's so disappointing when someone complains; your rush to satisfy; they stay the entire stay (with more people than reserved for), never reach out again and then leave a 1 star review. We had other houses that we could have used to accommodate her, but unfortunately we never heard from her after her first complaint other than to ask for money back after her three night stay.
