PALM SPRINGS MOVIE COLONY STUDIO APARTMENT

This guest house is a 400 square foot studio with a full bathroom, walk-in closet and kitchenette which boasts a wooden countertop, stainless steel refrigerator, toaster, two-burner induction cooktop, microwave and a single cup Keurig coffee maker. The kitchenette is fully stocked with cooking and dining ware, utensils, coffee, sugars and creamer. This modern/contemporary space boasts a comfortable queen size bed and an additional sofa with a pull out bed, accommodating up to 4 guests (ideally for 2 guests but can accommodate 4 with pull out bed with 2 inch memory foam topper). The full bathroom and spacious walk-in closet provide convenience and ample storage space. The sleek design and thoughtful amenities create a welcoming atmosphere for a memorable stay. Explore the outdoor spaces with mountain views, many relaxing sitting areas, and a fire pit on those chilly evenings, to warm you up!

NOTE: There are two units on this property as well as the main house. Full use of the yard, pool, hot tub and all amenities will be at your disposal as the possibility of a shared space with one other individuals. Unit 2 is currently not rented but is open for long term rental and may be occupied at the time of your stay.

NOTE: The per diem rate does not include heating the pool. We will heat the spa upon request on occasion during your stay not to exceed one hour per day. Up to one-hour per day will be gratis. Additional spa time will have a surcharge of $20/hour. Upon request, with 1 day advanced notice, the pool can be heated for an additional cost of $125/day. Please advise prior to arrival if heating of the pool is desired. Corn Hole, Bocce Ball and Crocket, Giant Jenga and Large Connect Four, are available for your use for no extra charge. Parking is street parking as this is a “home-share” and the garage is used for our vehicles. No covered parking is available.

Our City Permit # is 5340 for a “home-share” short-term rental. The City charges a 11.5% Transient Occupancy Tax and an additional TBID 1% assessment (Tourism Business Improvement District) on stays less than 27 days, which is collected by VRBO. Guest will sign a “Good Neighbor Brochure” when they arrive, noting they will comply with City requirements, including occupancy limits, noise, prohibitors and vehicle parking requirements (if applicable). In addition, the City requires the host to make a copy of the responsible party’s Driver’s License or other I.D.

Great location. Perfect for a couple. You get the use of the entire beautiful yard, with pool, hot tub, fire pit and multiple seating area. Feels very private. Owners are friendly and very responsive. A cozy casita, with everything you need. An unbelievable value!

Movie Colony rental

My husband and I stayed in the studio suite for 5 nights. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The property was very relaxing to sit outside and we enjoyed walking around the area and looking at the beautifully landscaped properties and wonderful mid century architecture. We would stay here again.

Everything about the property was nice and relaxing, and it was super short distance to the convention center. Host also had bicycles that were left out for us and it was fun to ride them around. Host was real nice and answered all my questions really quick. Will definitely book again in the future

Fabulous

Pam and Jon have made their their rental unit just so comfortable for anyones stay. The bachelor unit has everything you need and more. Little touches of welcome made it quite homey. We loved the fresh fruit to pick every morning. We met the gent who stays next door and he was quiet pleasant. This place is a great location. Quiet, secure and simply lovely. Thank you so much. Will definitely visit again. Debbie if anyone is working tho. I would say the wifi is a little sketchy.

Hello! Jon and Pam here! Both of us were raised in Palm Springs and we just love our home, our space and our town and would love for you to enjoy it, as well. We love meeting and getting to know new people and spending time with our kids and family, friends, good food, traveling, tennis and hiking and just being outside. We're so blessed to live in such a beautiful area and fun little town.

We love our space, yard, neighborhood and thought it'd be fun to share it with others and meet some great people along the way.

Why they chose this property

Our neighbor hood is friendly and close to downtown, Ruth Hardy Park and the Convention Center. All within a 10-15 minute walk. As you take a walk in our neighborhood you'll see lots of great Palm Springs Architecture. From the old Spanish style homes built in the 20's and 30's to the mid-century modern and ranch style homes built in the 60's and 70's and the newer built homes that have that Palm Springs charm.

Walking in the area you'll see lots of dog walkers and friendly people enjoying the weather and being outside. We live a 2 minute walk from the famous "RoboLights" house so it's always fun to see people admiring his work and taking pictures. Just around the block you will find the original residence of Frank Sinatra, and a few blocks in the opposite direction is the 1940's home of Bob Hope.

What makes this property unique

Our property sits on just under 1/2 acre with lot of fruit trees and herbs for you to enjoy (yep! you're welcome to whatever fruit happens to be in season and flourishing, during your stay- grapefruit, lemons, oranges, apricots, limes, and plums, figs, strawberries, and cumquats along various herbs for cooking) and some fun little areas we've put together for relaxing, photographing, reading, napping, taking in the sun, whatever your little heart desires! It's hard to explain exactly WHY it stands out. There's a lot to it because of its size and we've had a lot of fun putting it together, and continue to find new things to add on. A nice size area in the back corner of the yard for brunch or dinner outside with a large farmhouse table, handmade "L" shaped couch with a fire pit, a separate seating area, or 4-seat wine barrel table and palette wall with hanging outdoor lights is a favorite area of ours. Come see for yourself! Hope you enjoy!
