First, this place was extremely clean! Newer interior, appliances, etc. Check in/out extremely super easy. Communication with host was excellent! Considering the price point of this rental it served beyond our needs. It is an older cabin (uneven floors, etc,) but nicely decorated, furnished, and provides all the essentials. The larger bedroom had a window A/C unit which worked great! Portable A/C unit in living room worked good too. Recommend a window A/C unit in the bedroom with two beds because the portable A/C struggled to cool living room and room with two beds...but understand the dates of our stay the temps were in mid-90's, not normal. Overall a great stay!

First of all this is not a “cozy cabin” but a poorly constructed old house (possibly a former trailer home) right off of highway 31, across from a big gas station. For its location and what it offers, I think it’s unreasonably expensive. The VRBO listing should be required to mention that it is actually part of the Honor Motel and right around the corner from the motel itself. It’s not really safe place to stay for pets because the front door opens right onto a busy street and 31 is right across that street. Renters beware: highway 31 is very LOUD at all times of day and night. It’s hard to sleep for all the traffic. There’s a fire pit and grill but it’s not private as it’s located directly on the road. It honestly made me really homesick for my house and wooded backyard where the trucks don’t wiz by. If you’re looking for a cozy cabin in the woods as we were, this is definitely not it. We ended up here because it got too cold to continue camping at Platt River. But in its favor, it’s roomy, fairly clean, and there’s good communication with the host motel. It’s convenient to many nice areas in Benzie and Leelanau Counties. I personally loved that it was so near to Peterson Road and within 20 minutes of Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Clean and cute cabin!

The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. They had everything we needed for our stay for the week. It was great being so close to a market and convenience store as well as being centrally located from the various attractions we visited. We would definitely stay here again!

We only stayed one night but everything was better than expected. The cabin was much more spacious than the photos indicated. The small bathroom was the only exception but that was not a real issue. The place was clean and neat, warm and comfy, just what we were looking for for the weekend in Honor.

This was a great budget friendly option for our family. Home was very clean and well appointed. The AC units worked well, we just wish there had been one in the room with 2 beds. We liked the short drive to major attractions, but wish we had realized how close the house was to the major road/thoroughfare. There was noticeable road noise whenever the AC units were not running. I am not sure we would stay there again, but appreciated finding something in the area that was the right size for us and fit our tight budget.
