About this property

At the top of a hill in Garden Valley, ID, this one-of-a-kind log cabin perches for all to see. From this vantage point you can enjoy nearly 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Step outside to relax on the wrap around deck, or enjoy lounging by the outdoor fireplace. Inside you'll enjoy three levels of unique craftsmanship and cozy living space. A large fireplace in the main living area keeps the main part of the cabin cozy and warm, while the adjacent kitchen is furnished well enough for any baking or cooking needs. Two different dining areas ensure plenty of seating for even the largest group, as do two separate family rooms. Downstairs you will find the second living area, complete with a movie room, kitchenette, full bath, and bunk room with seven beds. The uppermost floor houses three separate bedrooms, including the master suite, and another full bath. NOTE: In the winter, snow tires, 4 wheel drive, and chains may be required to get up the driveway.

Beautiful home with some problems

The house is beautiful and very large. The beds were comfortable. We had a good time sledding on nearby hills and going to the terrace lakes hot springs. However, we had some issues. Its not clear from the listing but the fireplace and a basement gas stove is the main (only?) heat. I'm not sure if the furnace really works or is limited somehow, but almost the entire time we were there the temperature was 64-66 and the gas stove in the basement was non-functional. Bring extra sweaters. Also we had problems with the water. It started intermittently being extremely salty and undrinkable. Eventually it was salty all the time and we had to go buy drinking water. When contacted the owner suggested we leave early and then said running the water for a while sometimes clears the problem.. Indicating he knew this has been a problem in the past. Probably the most frustrating thing was the poor communication. There was no house "book" giving details on the property, how to get the most out of the fireplace for heating or how to deal with issues. The owners response to the lack of heat is that this is normal and expected. The owners reaction to the salty water and the stove was I'll look at it "next week" (after we would have left) I wasn't expecting miracles or anything for these issues - but the owner's attitude seemed like he's tracking to extract maximum value out of this property with minimal work. He did respond quickly to the texts.

Beautiful Large Cabin

It's difficult to call this a cabin because it's very large, with modern comforts. Our group was small and we were mostly there to work so we hardly used the bottom floor but it would be a perfect place to send a bunch of kids to hang out and play. It's a beautiful cabin in a quiet, serene neighborhood and only 1 hour from Boise. Ayden was quick to respond to any questions and check in/check out was simple. We didn't want to leave and look forward to going back!

A Wonderful Place for a Getaway

The home was beautiful! It was clean and had everything we needed for a lovely weekend. We were a group of four families looking for a quiet place with room for the kids to play. The children enjoyed sledding on the hill in the yard and the adults enjoyed hiking some of the nearby trails. The upstairs living area around the fireplace became the adult/family gathering spot and when the children wanted to go play on their own the basement was a perfect place for them. The owner told us to feel free to use wood for fires and it made the home so cozy. Check in and check out were clear and easy and the host responded quickly to all of our questions and never made us feel we were a bother. We would eagerly book this property again.
