This is a beautiful completely renovated historic home. Your family will be close to downtown and walking distance to the Legacy Museum. This house has the most incredible views of downtown off the balconies. Large pet friendly back yard with outside fire pit. Extra large bedrooms each with their own private new bathroom. Game room in the basement, a home gym, and a selfie room. The location is within walking distance of museums, Hilltop Public House (coffee shop & bar), MPAC, and Biscuits Baseball just to name a few.

The house was beautiful and looked just like the photos. The showers were incredible and each room had a comfy king size bed. AC was amazing considering it was also 97 out. Great place to stay if you’re looking for a big space in Montgomery.

We absolutely loved this property and plan to rent it again in the future! The house is so charming and we loved the different theme rooms, along with bonus rooms. It was very accommodating for our group and the host was amazing too!

The Herron House is a historic home built in 1880 that’s been fully renovated. Some of the historic charm remains. The home was comfortable and met our needs; for three couples. The downtown location was close to the many civil rights sites we were visiting as well as close to the highway for going to other parts of Montgomery. The home is currently on the market so some little things that could be improved may be overlooked by the owner. There could be more detailed instructions, the tankless water heater temperature could be raised, and the front storm door either fixed or removed. Overall, it’s an unique home and despite the little quirks, it is well worth visiting. I hope the future owners realize its potential and maintain its historic charm and beauty. We recommend this home.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The house was spectacular and we had more than enough room to spread out and relax. We appreciated all of the amenities, especially the umbrellas during a rainy day. Lana was very responsive and accommodating. We will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Montgomery.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is very close to downtown and the riverfront. It's very hilly in Montgomery so consider that when planning a trip to the city for all your sight seeing. We were able to walk to downtown but people with health and or mobility issues might need to drive from place to place. The house had plenty of room for 3 couples. The outdoor spaces were really nice as well. We cooked all of our meals and enjoyed our down time hanging out at the house. We would book here again when travelling with friends and family.

Golf trip

The house was perfect to play multiple RTJ Golf Trail locations. It is beautifully redone and just a couple minutes from downtown spots. We would definitely book it again in the future.

This home was very beautiful. Exactly what is in the photos. Conveniently located to stores and food. Very clean on the inside and plenty of linens. Very spacious. There was a wasp problem but owner responded quickly. This was a great stay.

Fabulous!

This is one of THE best stays we have had. The house itself is amazing. It has every amenity you need to just gather with friends/family, relax, cook if you choose. The bedrooms do not lack a thing & each one has their own bath. The back porch and fire pit are also amazing. Seriously, this place is perfect.

Loved our visit

Family wedding in Montgomery and we had three adult couples. All of us were first time visitors to Alabama. House recently renovated (over 100 years old!) - we loved the Victorian charm. Close to museums and downtown. Communication with host was excellent and was available at all times for any issues. Enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful historic home on a hill!

My husband and daughter were there for two nights attending our son in laws officer commissioning at Maxwell AFBFirst of all - the house is so eye catching on the outside and inside --- amazing with its 15 foot ceilings! Each bedroom has its own charm ! Very well appointed ! Close to downtown with the most charming deck overlooking the city ! would definitely book again!

I loved it here and will return. We attend competitions at the whitewater center, so the location is ideal. I like the elevated ceilings and the relative seclusion of the backyard/porch. The gym across the street is great. There are coffee shops and restaurants within a couple of blocks. The kitchen has a nice gas range and griddle with a large island/sink conveniently placed for easy meal prep. I’d like a larger fridge, but it’s acceptable and looks cute. The shower faucets have several variations of spray heads. It makes me want to upgrade mine at home. The beds are comfortable and the host arranged a time to change out our sheets and towels mid-stay.

A Hidden Gem

I am reluctant to write an honest review because I do not want others to find this place and book it before I can next year. Yet, I must say that this house is immaculate and has lots of potential uses. The renovation pays tribute to the property’s heritage while adding modern updates. It is in a great location with wonderful parking.

Beautifully restored historic home

We were a group of 3 couples. The home is beautifully restored and all 3 bedrooms had comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The workout room and ping pong table in the basement were a bonus. The house is very conveniently located. We were on a golf trip and it was a quick 15 minute drive to the RTJ courses. We walked downtown several times to some great restaurants and museums. Highly recommend

Beautiful

The home was beautiful ans charming. It has the character of an "antique" home, with updated renovations. The roof top deck was beautiful. On the other hand, with the home being " older", door frames to the outside were warp and allowed dust, rain and air to easily enter. The house could have been dusted prior to our arrival as there was alot of contractor dust on the floors and other areas dur to the renovations

Great time in Splendor of Yesteryear and Elegance of Today

My friends and I had a great time at Herron House. Everyone loved the decor and the elegance of days gone by. We loved the thought that went into each room and just enjoyed the ambiance. It was very spacious and opulent. The bedrooms are a great size with all ensuites. The blue room is downstairs and offers guests access to the bathroom there. Everything worked as it should have and enjoyed the double oven with a griddle. I would recommend 1 or 2 more pots and pans for those that like to cook. The Alabama River is near and it shows up occasionally. We would recommend Herron House for your stay in Montgomery.

Scrumptious

This big roomy historic home in downtown Montgomery is adorable. It was close to everything we wanted to see. The pictures do not do the property justice - the decor is exquisite. Each themed bedroom had it's own beautifully decorated bathroom. The basement has a selfie room for the children to take pictures and a workout room, which my husband used. The property manager was immediately available for questions. Definitely consider this house when renting in Montgomery.

Beautiful but dirty!

Beautiful home. Very well decorated. Great spaces. Plenty of room for 3 couples. However it had not been cleaned prior to our check in. Dirty dishes, dirty floors, hair all over the inside of bathtub, and vomit yes VOMIT on the toilet. I have pictures to document all this. We had to glove up and clean it prior to use. Very disappointed!!! No response from host either!!!!

This is absolutely untrue. We were only made aware of these accusations after they left and wanted a refund. They sent a picture of what appeared to be wet toilet paper on the rim of a toilet and said it was vomit. I asked why there was no vomit on the outside of or in the toilet. I find it virtually impossible that someone could vomit on just the rim of a toilet? No response. If I checked into a place that was as dirty as this, I would have notified the owner immediately and not stayed there. This is a perfect example of somebody trying to get out of paying for their stay. Bad apples can ruin the entire barrell.

Unique, spacious property. Beds are comfortable and everyone slept well. Plenty of space to gather to eat and chat. We had fun with the ping pong table in the basement. Cooking essentials are limited making it tricky to prepare meals for a group.
