This was a great place to spend a long weekend. Wish it was earlier in the season so that we could enjoy the lake more but what a beautiful location. Allyson and Scott were very easy to work with. Loved the personal touch when Allyson reached out to see how things were going due to a large storm that had come through the area. We would stay here again.

Beautiful lake equals relaxation
Me a few friends stayed for a weekend and had a great time. The lake is very nice, peaceful and calm but the fishing wasn’t the best. Which was fine because the setting and the company were more important.
The house is perfect and had everything we needed and then some. The surroundings are excellent, the trees and the ground with pine beds and cool rocks was nice.
A very well maintained lake house in a nice quiet area is what we wanted and we got just that.
Thanks again Allyson and Scott!

Wonderfully comfortable home
Living far away from family is hard, but sometimes trying to visit them can be harder.
My family tries to converge on the Keene, NH area at least once a year. This means finding a home that will be comfortable for 6 adults--and now an 8 year old and a 10 month old--not to mention the locals we visit that brings meals and gatherings up to 14!
This year, we chose Thanksgiving to visit because it coincided with 2 birthdays. This Swanzey home was perfect. Plenty of privacy, but with nice common areas for eating and chatting. The thermostat controlled fireplace in the living room is wonderful for taking off the chill. The kitchen is small, but the grill on one of the porches is a nice addition.
The location is ideal for seeing covered bridges, visiting Keene as well as tiny hamlets, but also for just enjoying the lake and its surroundings.
The owners are cordial, helpful, and respond quickly to emails.

Fully Equipped Modern Lake House
We were fortunate to find such a lovely house on a beautiful lake. The house is modern and well equipped. The lake is clean and there is a nice entrance area out into the water for swimming. A couple of our friends used the kayaks the owners provided to go around Swanzey Lake. The fire pit was a big hit. There was a big pile of wood available for a nice fire by the lake. The beds were decorated nicely. We bicycled over six covered bridges in one day! We highly recommend this great lake house. Thank you, Allison, for a great experience.

A cozy yet roomy getaway spot!
Cannot recommend this rental any higher. I've stayed here two years running with my wife and friends for a weekend winter hike of Monadnock, and it's the coziest spot that accommodates all 6 of us very well. Allyson is an amazing host, was available to answer any and all questions we had. We also arrived the day of a snow storm and found the house plowed, shoveled, and ready for our arrival. Would love to return in the summer, it is an amazing location on the lake, but we definitely love it as a cozy getaway in February.

Perfect lake house
We rented the house with four adults and two small children and it was perfect. Exceptionally clean, comfortable and the outdoor space was fabulous. Loved the yard, dock and fire pit. Owner was very responsive and easy to reach. Great spot for a quiet, peaceful retreat but still close enough to Keene to find restaurants/activities. Beautiful, sandy beach 1/2 mile up the road at Pilgrim Pines which was great for little ones (had to register for the day to use, but very easy to do). Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area - we plan to rent there again next summer.

A week on swanzey lake
We had a nice stay and would recommend this rental to others.
The lake and view was lovely, the dock was spacious, and the house clean and comfortable. The only drawback was an old bureau in the front bedroom which had a moldy/ mildewy smell.

Fantastic lake house!!!
The home we rented while attending a graduation at Keene State was just perfect in some many ways. Great location near the college, this cozy and very clean home made our weekend in NH and fantastic one. The home is ideal for anyone looking for a relaxing stay on a beautiful lake to have vacation or simply for a quick get-away for some R + R. Make the reservations was stress free and so easy. I hope to make future plans to stay at this awesome home in the near future.

About the host
Hosted by Scott Lee
Scott and I live in the Metrowest area of Massachusetts, where we have raised our two daughters. Scott works in Boston in the insurance industry and I work in the antique business.
Why they chose this property
Scott has been going to Swanzey Lake his entire life through camping at Pilgrim Pines and the attending the children's camp Squanto. We have been vacationing at Swanzey Lake with our girls for 20+ years and are thrilled to finally own a vacation home on the lake. We see this as a house that we will continue to make memories in for years to come, hopefully with grandchildren some day!!
What makes this property unique
What made us fall in love with the house were the lake views from the dining room, living room and deck. We were looking for a lake house, but didn't want a camp that needed a lot of maintenance. The light and open floor plan with cathedral ceilings, fireplace and beautiful woodwork, along with the fireplace, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms sealed the deal for us. We love that the house can be used all four seasons and the fact that it has a first floor bedroom for our guests who can't climb stairs, was a plus. Scott is also a 'tree lover', so the privacy afforded by the wooded lot appealed to us. No grass to mow!
