Nice and charming. Perfectly advertised and delivered upon its namesake being “simply serene”. If visiting in winter definetely heed to the hosts advice of parking at the top if there’s any chance of snow. Even in a heavy awd vehicle getting up the driveway was a challenge.
Communication with owner was A, great written instructions and recommendations. Location is on top of Beech Mountain, making access to ski/snowboard a breeze. We also got a winter hike on the AT which has several trailheads nearby.
Home was charming. Loved the fireplace & looking outside at all the deer. Close to everything which was nice, but our last day we had to use our 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. We will go back next year absolutely!
Great location and a close drive to Beech Mountain! If you’re an outdoorsy person, just being able to watch deer and turkey every morning and evening was awesome too.

Steve and I in the Surf City, NC area and have a family owned & operated retail store that keeps us busy especially in the summer! We enjoy kayaking, riding bikes (especially on the Virginia Creeper), and just being outdoors with family and friends. We travel a lot for work, but our most favorite place is to travel to is our home on Beech Mountain. It is Simply Serene and we love sharing the peace and serenity of the mountains with others.
Why they chose this property
Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood, but with some great people who also live in our area. We consider them our family away from the beach where we live...
What makes this property unique
While our home is cozy, we have furnished it with artwork from local artists including our favorite Wesley Waugh from Blowing Rock and a few of our favorite antiques... the woodbox was bought on Route 66 in Amarillo, TX. The most special thing about our home is that it quiet and comfortable and relaxing, but located close to ski resorts Beech and Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Boone, and Blowing Rock for day trips. A favorite activity, the Virginia Creeper is a 17-mile downhill bike ride starting in Damascus, VA. is only 1 1/2 hour drive from our home and which winds through gorgeous scenery, around a river and the Appalachian Trail. We often drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, hike and explore nearby towns.
