Address was not correct on the email from VRBO. Cabin advertised was not the one we were put in. Floor was not vacuumed. River on property is amazing. Don’t expect much more than a camp house. This was all fine for 4 guys, glad the wives didn’t come lol! Property lacks upkeep. Still a great vacation in Lake city.
This is a rustic somewhat outdated mountain cabin in the Texan Resort. It was as the photos depicted. It was clean and worked well for our family group but a few changes would’ve been helpful. The master bed is fairly uncomfortable, the porch and several inside lights were out, there was only one dish towel. The kitchen has a random assortment of dishes with a few rusty pans. The coffee mugs are small! The river was close and nice to splash around for kids. We caught a few fish, but the water was low when we were there. The price seems high for other comparable cabins, but overall we had a great visit. The office hosts were friendly, but had limited office hours.
The listing is not at all what we got. The check in process was hard. We never heard from the host, so we didn't know the address or how to get into the cabin. We finally found a phone number & got the information we needed. Once inside, we found the cabin dirty, very outdated & poorly decorated. The fireplace didn't work & the wall furnace didn't work either. A manager came to try to fix it but couldn't. He did give us a space heater to use. The beds were very uncomfortable, once 2 people got on the bed, you fell into the middle. All the beds were like this. Ceiling lights didn't have fixtures, smoke alarms were missing (only the mounts were on the wall), the leather couch was extremely worn. windows didn't have screens so bugs would get inside if you opened them. No light in the fridge or on the front porch worked. We had to get new batteries in the remote for the TV to work. One day they shut off the water without telling us because they were working on the cabin next to us. We were supposed to stay there for 4 nights, but after 3 nights we gave up and left early. We asked for a refund for the last night that we couldn't stay any longer but got no response (not a big surprise).
