Dare to "Beach Dreams", a beautiful property located in the Ocean Sands Subdivision just overflowing with many conveniences. This home is close to two supermarkets, Timbuck ll Shopping Center, The Currituck Lighthouse, The Whalehead Club & Museum, Wild Horse Tours and Coastal Kayak Adventures.

Drink up the warm sun as you sit peacefully on the top sun decks; experience the cool sand as the water races over your toes. Sit back and relax in the hot tub with your favorite beverage, rack up a game of billiards, or just lazily float in the pool.

We had a great time together staying a week at Beach Dreams. The kitchen was a little small for a group of 13. We loved the pool & short walk to the beach. Overall our stay was wonderful & we would definitely stay here again.

Beach Dream vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was fully stocked with everything we needed for out entire families the week. I he grocery store was was a walk away. The pool was wonderful and we all really enjoyed the pool table. He grandkids loved all the movies. The only down fall was the place was dirty, bedspreads and couches were dingy and stained. Food was under the beds. The bathrooms had hair everywhere. We had to clean tubs prior to bathing kids. I understand this is not the fault of the owners but reality’s service.

Annual Family Vacation

My family and I enjoyed our stay and were really happy with the condition and location of the house. It's a 5 min walk to the beach and a mile away from stores. When we arrived we were very satisfied with the condition of inside the house. It was very clean and well stocked, especially the kitchen. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to comfortably fit us all which was a huge plus. We did encounter some issues with the TV's...too many remotes and some TV's didn't even get a signal, maybe it was user error..but between 6 adults we found it very difficult. The outside of the house needed a little help. In the areas around the front and side doors and pool area there were A LOT of spiderwebs and bugs. My boyfriend had to spend about 20 minutes hosing it down so we felt comfortable going in and out. Not a make or break scenario, but something that you don't want to have to do on vacation. The pool and hot tub were a big hit, and we enjoyed spending time on the screened in porch. Overall, we would definitely recommend Beach Dreams, it's clean and spacious and you cannot beat the location. As I mentioned above, the condistion of outside the house is the only reason we would give it 4/5 stars.

The place is falling apart.

I’ve stayed in outer banks before and had wonderful experiences. This property is a mess. I’m hoping there is a place in this review to add photos. First of all, the hot tub was green and smelled like a fish tank. They did come fix it after a day but they made the comment they don’t treat it when it rains. The pool was nice but looks much larger in photos. It’s actually pretty narrow. Everything in the house was falling apart. The washer only worked half the time. The dryer made a horrendous noise and burnt all of my daughter and my sisters clothes and bathing suites. All the smoke alarms were beeping. The blender was broken. The couch smelled like feet. Carpet on the stairs desperately needed replaced. The worst part was the bikes. My brother in law had to put air in all of the tires. They had rust on them. The tires fell off one of them. Another bike completely fell apart while my son was on it and he took a very nasty spill resulting in road rash and very deep abrasions that kept him out of the pool and ocean the rest of the week. The blankets in the closet were dirty. The mattresses in the bunk bed and lower part of the home were terribly uncomfortable. For the price, I do not recommend this place.

House was nice, property management TERRIBLE

DO NOT USE! We checked in Saturday evening, took a quick look around and was happy with things. After we put all groceries away, got settled and we’re about to head to bed, the smoke detector started chirping. I called the office and had to leave a message. We found some batteries in the hutch and changed the smoke alarm. Fine. Sunday morning the office called and asked if they could send out maintenance to change the battery. I told her we changed it last night, couldn’t sleep with the beeping/chirping. They called right back and said that someone was coming to service the washer and dryer either Monday or Tuesday, it wasn’t working properly and wanted to make sure it was ok if they came in while we were not there. Of course!!! Tuesday night I started a load of laundry, it pulled steamy hot water while the setting was on cool and stopped working. I again called. Oops! We need a appliance repair technician. Should be there by Thursday. I had to call to check status and everything was later, later. While out and about I stopped by the office Thursday and Kaitlyn was SO rude!!!!!! I’ve been patient and kind and her energy was so incredibly repulsive! Having a washer in a house of 9 people is a necessity, like having a working fridge! When I asked about a refund or credit from Megan or to speak to a manager, no one could be bothered to call me back. I had 2 in my party to leave early because they ran out of clothes. I was told Friday night no refund would be given.

Dear Cyndi, We are so sorry all three appliance vendors are backed up for two weeks. This is out of our control. The vendor did arrive and found that the only issue was the belt. So, I'm not very sure why it would pull hot water unless you called for it. Caitlyn is anything but rude. She couldn't be. All the best!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is not the best for the senior citizen community. The steps are very steep and my husband got back pain after walking up the stairs and was pretty much confined to the top floor for the entire vacation. I thought the house was closer to the beach than it turned out to be, but the walk was pleasant. We did not use any of the baby/toddler equipment, but I did use the bicycle. It certainly has seen better days. The squeaks and rust did not create confidence in the bike. The pool table was well maintained, but the cue ball was not entirely round which made for an interesting game. I agree with another renter who said that there was no space for food because all the cabinets were loaded with kitchen things. So our food had to be set on the counter which was not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to have a counter. The instructions for leaving and placing the sheets/towels in the proper place was very confusing. I hope we got it right. All in all it was an OK place, like my title, but not spectacular. I would recommend this house, but also let people know about some of the drawbacks.

Great place to call home for a week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was my husband and I and four kids ages 15-24 and two boy /girlfriends. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The house was very clean and well cared for. There were many extras provided such as bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs, a wagon, games, cornhole, every kitchen dish, appliance, or utensil was there, also an extensive dvd collection that two of my kids really enjoyed. We really enjoyed having our own pool hot tub, and pool table. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice welcome package, with some nice gifts that we could use on our vacation. The home owner also had a magnet on the fridge that says take a picture of this and take it to local bagel shop and get a free dozen bagels as a gift from the homeowner. They came in many great flavors and were loved by all. The beach was a straight shot, 5 min walk away, there is a wooded path that takes you straight there. This was the best rental we’ve stayed in.. after a near perfect vaca,was frustrating that we were sitting in the car in the driveway 6 minutes after check out time we were given, and my husband getting directions set up and then my son realized he left his phone in the house so my husband had went back in to get it and when he got back someone pulled in the driveway and yelled at us that it was after checkout time.we apologized, Also I was unsure from directions provided where to put the sheets so I called the rental company and they said to leave them outside near the front door since there wasn’t an empty bin there, which we did, and she yelled at us for that too which I explained that that was what I was told to do. I was so upset this woman was so unhappy with me when i thought I left everything in the same if not better care than we found it, and I was getting yelled at. She did quickly apologize after she saw I was upset but still frustrating.there was also a problem a broken fan and the door lock not working but they promptly sent someone to take care of it.

As a rental unit owner ourselves, may we suggest that the home supply bath mats and more than one dish towel. Also, the description and the rental agent told us there were no bikes, beach chairs or wagons. All of these were at the home. Wish we knew before we brought our own bikes and beach chairs. Everything else was very good.

Cobwebs on lights, food in cushions of furniture, top of dressers dusty, beach umbrella broke, beach chairs moldy and broken, mold on bottom of shower on main floor, dried food on clean utensils, cockroaches, skimmer for pool broken, towel holder broken, pool table old and not useable, door would not lock on upper level to screened in porch area, front patio, patio to pool area as well as pool area full of dried leaves, dried crusted food on kitchen floor, tiki bar area dirty, cigarette butts all over, empty beer cans and dried leaves in tiki bar area, we weren’t able to enjoy tiki bar, chairs along pool broken, outside picnic table dry rotted, pool area dirty, bikes all thrown in a pile and broken, the list goes on.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I will say the house was very well stocked with kitchen supplies and tons of beach gear ( bikes, carts, beach chairs, boogie boards -all of which we used). All beds were surprisingly comfortable. You get a lot with location, pool, hot tub, rec room, beach gear for what you pay for. However, this house NEEDS some attention and then it could possible be a 5 star rental. The carpet is dirty with stains and should be pulled up immediately. The dishwasher stopped working the second day. Rental company was notified and they sent a general maintenance guy out that said he couldn’t fix it and he would call an appliance guy. No one ever came back to fix it. So we had to wash dishes for 11 people the rest of the week - cause you can’t use paper for everything. We noticed the pool light was out and told the pool guy and he said he never heard from the rental company at all so it was probably out “for awhile”. The most disturbing thing we found was cockroaches. Our kids found them in the utensil drawer and the next day we saw a couple crawling in the screened in porch as we were trying to relax. I looked for cleaning supplies and under the kitchen sink there was a bottle of cockroach spray already there. So, it must be known there is a problem, yet it has not been corrected. After that I didn’t want to be in the house at all. We slept with a towel under our master bedroom door to help stop any bugs since it was so close to the kitchen.

Overall Good Experience

Overall, we had a good experience. The house was clean, and we were able to get in early. It was plenty spacious for our group. The management company was helpful and responsive whenever we had questions. The couches and beds could use an upgrade as they were very saggy. Almost all the bikes had flat tires or otherwise didn’t work, so were not useful. The outdoor area near the pool wasn’t very kept – cobwebs and weeds growing made it feel the area doesn’t get a lot of attention. None of the areas of improvement ruined our good time. The location was great, just a few minutes to activities and shopping, even in the quieter northern section of the island. We would return to this house.

Nice location

The house is in a nice community and convenient to shops and restaurants, with a 5 minute walk to the beach. The house is pretty much as represented and includes many amenities such as beach chairs and almost everything you’d need for the kitchen. We had a little problem with bugs, but the property manager sent exterminators out quickly. Overall, we had a very nice stay.

Overall good experience

House was decent and clean. Pool area was not the cleanest. No issues while there. Longer walk to the beach than expected.

Enjoyed this rental

Property worked out great for our group of 13. Plenty of room. Pool and hot tub helped entertain the kids while not at the beach. Was cleaned up to expectations, was able to get in more than an hour early. Only issue was lack of provided towels, not enough for our group.
